Charles Barkley is doing sideline interviews now (for some reason), and if it proves anything about sideline reporting, it's that not even being in the Basketball Hall of Fame gets you any extra time with the coach. Barkley, on sideline duty for TNT, attempted to ask San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich three questions, which is 50 percent more questions than a sideline reporter is allowed to ask Gregg Popovich. Hilarity ensued. "I didn't know you only got two questions," Barkley said.

Barkley: Varejao has been the best non-alien forward in Eastern Conference

If Anderson Varejao, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol aren’t on the All-Star team, it’s a farce. Anderson Varejao has been the best forward in the Eastern Conference this year. I mean of there mere mortals — I don’t count LeBron, he’s one of those aliens. But out of the normal human beings, Anderson Varejao has been the best forward in the Eastern Conference this year. ...

Gregg Popovich will have nine active players.

Shootaround: Welp, that was fun

San Antonio Spurs (13-3) vs. Miami Heat (10-3) 8 p.m./TNT Um, so this game got a lot less interesting. I mean, it might be fun to watch because Charles Barkley is calling the game, but Gregg Popovich's decision to send Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili home to end this road trip for San Antonio takes a lot of the juice out of this game. This is not a 13-3 Spurs...

Grizzlies-Spurs Preview

The organization now has a lighter wallet because of it. Despite NBA commissioner David Stern's controversial penalty, San Antonio's core will be well-rested Saturday night...

Spurs sit stars; steaming Stern seeks 'sanctions'

Gregg Popovich sent his best players home, deciding they reached the end of the road before the trip was over. San Antonio's game notes still listed Tim Duncan and Tony Parker as probable starters, when it was already definite they'd be long gone before the Spurs tipped off in Miami. Dishonest? Absolutely. But to what extent? Many were still wrestling with that one Friday...

Starting 5: Rest well earned

Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1: Second wind Maybe this is why Gregg Popovich wanted to save his best player's legs.
