When the Knicks signed Baron Davis in the shortened offseason, there was much speculation as to if the veteran, but injured and aging, point guard could guide New York in the right direction.
After a slow and sub-satisfactory start to the season, Davis’ return is what Knicks fans are riding on to turn the 6-10 team into a valid playoff contender.
Today, that return took a fairly significant step.
Baron Davis practiced with the New York Knicks for the first time today and although his return to the court was described as “rusty” by himself and coach D’Antoni, there is a lot of optimism that his presence will lead to only good things for the struggling squad.
“I didn’t play good,” Davis admitted, “but a lot of like instinctual things were there.”
