Knicks (50-26) vs Wizards (29-41)
730PM/ET on MSG
First of all, props to Melo for winning Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors. If you’re keeping track, that’s back-to-back weeks that a Knicks player has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. J.R. Smith wore the crown last week.
And to further stunt on the league, Melo’s jersey outsold LeBron’s to become the top-selling jersey in the league. His sudden surge in jersey sales also helped the Knicks maintain the number one position in merchandise sales.
We’re winning in every way possible right now. At some point, the streak will end, but the Washington Wizards won’t be the team to do it. The Knicks are pretty unstoppable. Offensively, it seems that Melo is in a zone. If he continues to have the hot hand, the Wizards don’t stand a chance. John Wall can and probably will exploit the Knicks porous transition defense because he’s been on a tear of his own– averaging 24.8 points, 8.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game since March 12. And the Knicks should expect Trevor Ariza to get it going. For some reason, former Knicks players always have a way of reminding us why we loved them so much when they wore orange and blue. Ariza isn’t any different. This season, he is averaging 14.7 ppg, which is 5 points above his season average. But that’s ok because the Knicks have enough offensive weapons that will silence the Wizards.
The Knicks will not falter against the Washington Wizards. The number 13 will indeed be lucky for the home team. Knicks win.

Just wait until J.R. Smith T’s up Joey Crawford. It only a matter of when.
The Knicks have kept rolling since my last bench report a week ago, posting a 3-0 record since last Thursday. Two of the three wins recorded this past week are very solid ones, one coming last Friday at home against the Bucks, and the other was an even stronger win against Western power Oklahoma City Thunder. The most recent victory was this past Tuesday night at the Garden as the...
Carmelo Anthony had 36 points and 12 rebounds, J.R. Smith hit a pair of shot-clock beaters in the final two minutes and the New York Knicks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-120 on Sunday for their 12th straight win.
Smith connected on a 23-foot jumper from the right wing as the 24-second clock expired to put New York up 117-113 with 1:30 to play. He then swished a 3-pointer with...
As part of the Louisville team that won the NCAA championship game, Russ Smith had quite a run in his junior season. The 6’1″ guard from Brooklyn averaged over 18 points per game will now have to decide whether he wishes to return to Rick Pitino’s team for his senior year or enter the NBA.
Well, according to his father, the decision is already...

With their victory over the Thunder in Oklahoma City Sunday afternoon, the Knicks winning streak has been extended to 12 games. Carmelo Anthony’s unbelievable scoring outbursts along with J.R. Smith’s new and efficient drive-first style of play have been major factors in the Knicks’ recent stretch. The dynamic duo has also been assisted by the recently...

Knicks 125 Thunder 120
Just in case the NBA world wasn’t convinced that the Knicks were contenders, a huge 125-120 win over the 56-21 Thunder has hopefully convinced them.
It wasn’t an easy win, nor was it New York’s best outing (especially defensively), but when a clutch basket was needed, they came through.
At the half, the Knicks had opened up a...
Moments after Monday's national championship game, Russ Smith Sr. said that his son, Louisville guard Russ Smith Jr., will leave school early to enter the NBA Draft.
With their recent victories against the Heat, Celtics, Thunder and Grizzlies, the New York Knicks are back in the spotlight. Coming off of a brutal West Coast trip and a 4-game losing streak, the Knicks have turned it around and compiled a 13-game winning streak. While the Knicks have played a great team-game, the team has relied on bonafide superstar Carmelo Anthony. Through his...
