This NBA Draft Class is all about San Antonio Spurs Forward/Center Victor Wembanyama. No doubt, he has been getting all of the attention thus far this season and rightfully so too. Former Wizard Center Kristaps Porzingis has been known as “The Unicorn.” However, it feels like there’s a new sheriff in town as Wemby appears to be the real unicorn here. He does too many things well on both ends of the floor and it’s hard for him to decide which way he wants to dominate the game on a nightly basis.

Despite all the attention of being the number one pick with Wembanyama, Wizards Forward Bilal Coulibaly has managed to steal the spotlight quite a bit despite being drafted seventh overall in the draft. They both played together in France and had the opportunity to play together last night in the NBA Rising Stars Game. Wemby dominated in the stat sheet as he scored 11 points to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks. He shot an amazing 83% from the field too.

Bilal Coulibaly only managed to log just under eight minutes in this game. You barely seen him last night in their 41-36 loss to the G-League Rising Stars. However, he made the most of his time. In fact, he managed to lead the team in efficiency as he had a PER of +2. Despite Wemby filling up the stat sheet, he still had a -2 in PER. As a matter of fact, all of the starters had a negative PER in last night’s game.

Bilal talks about this with Carita Parks as he realized it was a big opportunity for him to showcase who he is as a player and rising star of the NBA. Bilal is a special player who doesn’t need the ball or even a high volume of shots to be effective in this league. The Wizards may have the steal of this draft when it’s all said and done.
