Life is Just a Fantasy ... Basketball...:
Bismack Biyombo was long overdue for one of these days. The Bobcats' second-year big man swatted a season high seven shots in Monday's 100-94 loss to the Houston Rockets.
Biyombo played 36 minutes (the most since January 6 when he played 34) on his way to two points (1-5 FG), nine rebounds and a steal.
Biyombo hasn't advanced much beyond his rookie season. His rebounds (6.7 per game) are up while his blocks (1.5) are down. He's a gamble of a play (owned in 16 percent of Yahoo leagues), although he has the potential, if getting more than 30 minutes, to win blocks for head-to-head owners.
Kemba Walker continued his sophomore tear: 35 points (12-21 FG, 5-6 FT), six 3-pointers, three rebounds, five assists and a steal. He ultimately lost the duel with the Rockets' James Harden (29 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals).
Walker is a star in the making.

I should first say that I’m totally in favor of playing Hakim Warrick over Tyrus Thomas whenever it’s humanly possible, and probably also when it’s possible for cyborgs, androids, mutants, Vulcans, Terminators, Robocops, UniSols, replicants, and robots with human brains. Thomas has been an abject failure for the Bobcats, and Warrick is better than him [...]
I’m paraphrasing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when I say that I have a dream that Fox Sports South never throws up a stupid jinxing graphic like this one again. As soon as I saw it flash at the end of the third quarter in the Bobcats’ latest excruciating loss to the Rockets, I knew [...]
“We’re very active – our owner wants us to be active,’’ [Charlotte GM Rod] Higgins told the Observer in regard to the Feb. 21 trade deadline.
Higgins said owner Michael Jordan has given Higgins and general manager Rich Cho “the green light to go out and make this team better…I don’t think there’s any limits to what we’d try to do.’’
That could range from...
NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin will be part of the Atlanta Hawks-Charlotte Bobcats telecast on Wednesday night.
Hamlin, who will race in the Daytona 500 on Feb. 24 on FOX, will sit in with Bobcats analysts Steve Martin and Dell Curry during the first quarter of the game in Charlotte, then joins the Hawks team of Bob Rathbun and Dominique Wilkins in the second quarter.
The game will...
You know? I am starting to think that I need to become a Bobcats fan. Why do you ask? I don't want to miss this ride. The Bobcats could be something great one day and I want to be there when it happens. None of this following your favorite childhood team to mediocrity (Lakers/Celtics). Instead, jump on board now with Kemba, MKG and the Biz. I think I'm doing it.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- James Harden scored 29 points and hit all 10 of his free throws in the fourth quarter as the Houston Rockets rallied to snap a seven-game losing streak, beating the Charlotte Bobcats 100-94 Monday.
Kemba Walker scored a career-high 35 points for the Bobcats, who set a franchise record with their 15th straight loss at home. The longest home skid in NBA history...
Another tough NBA fight, another difficult loss for Bobcats fans to swallow. Sure, Charlotte gave Houston a run for it’s money on Monday night, but in the end dropped their second straight game and (once again) started what could develop into another lengthy losing streak. Despite forcing James Harden into difficult shots (he shot just [...]
Kemba Walker's second-year surge continued Saturday night. The Charlotte Bobcats guard double-doubled with 14 points and 10 assists. The former UCONN Huskie added a three-pointer, four steals and four rebounds.
His Achilles heel continues to be his shooting. He made just six-of-17 shots in a loss to the Sacramento Kings Saturday and he's making 43.1 percent of his shots...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - James Harden scored 29 points, including 10 free throws in the final six minutes, as the Houston Rockets rallied to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 100-94 on Monday afternoon. Harden was just 5-of-20 from the field, but found a way to get to the line and was 19-for-21 from the stripe. He was a perfect 10-of-10 from the line down the stretch, including two with 40.2...
Since becoming disabled I’ve had the honor of writing the recap articles each Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In healthier times I would travel to Atlanta and participate in the annual march once even having the sublime honor of walking alongside Dr. King’s widow Coretta. There is a lot going on today for sports fans, not the least of which is the NBA-announced approval of the Kings...
