Along with the Charlotte Bobcats B.J. Mullens is one of the biggest surprises on this young NBA season. Last night in a game against Portland Mullens threw down a monster dunk. This is one of the best dunks in the NBA so far this season. Harrison Barnes still has the dunk of the year so far though.
Mullens attempted a three pointer but he missed it and got his own rebound. He then drove down the middle of the lane and threw down a monster dunk over Portland’s star player LaMarucs Aldridge.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist slammed home a monster dunk during the first quarter of Monday night's NBA game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The dunk by MKG brought the fans at the Time Warner Cable Arena to their feet.
However, the Bobcats blew a fourth quarter lead and lost to the Blazers in overtime 118-112.

I was on the optimistic side before the season began when analyzing the prospects of the Charlotte Bobcats for the first month of the season. I was criticized a bit for predicting a 6-9 November start, and while I freely admit it was a bit of a reach at the time, it turns out my [...]
The Charlotte Bobcats have not had much to celebrate in their nine-year existence. They have posted only one winning season and gave their fans (what few of them there are) reason to get excited earlier this season when the ‘Cats won six of eight. Since then, somebody must have reminded them that they are the Bobcats, because they have lost four straight.
With that in mind, we...
Before most of Wednesday night's game have even completed, I'm pretty sure that Charlotte Bobcats guard Kemba Walker is going to get the award for the shot of the night.Watch as Mr. Walker drives to the hoop against the New York Knicks and somehow gets the shot to fall with an over-the-shoulder toss:
Check out ya boy Byron Mullens of the Charlotte Bobcats flying over top of LaMarcus Aldridge and dunking all over his face last night. This is a seven footer I might add. Never seen anything like it. Aldridge didn't seem like he wanted to go for a block and settled for trying to take a charge, but no go on that. The dunk was good to go and it clearly sits at the top of...
Last night, Byron Mullens (better known as B.J. to you college basketball fans) had what might be the best dunk of the NBA season so far. I know what you’re thinking, ‘Wait, that dorky, weird looking white guy had the dunk of the year?‘ Yes and you should watch it. Now.
Mullens tosses up a three from the top of the key. The shot ends up bricking horribly but Mullens was in...
Blake Griffin, Gerald Green, DeMar DeRozan are all considered some of the best dunkers in the NBA but should Bobcats' Byron Mullens be added to the list?
If his dunk on Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge is any indication, then the answer is yes.
During the Bobcats-Blazers game, Mullens went top-shelf on Aldridge and showed off not only some major hops, but will certainly have...
As we get ready for a Monday night of NBA hoops, Charlotte Bobcats center Byron Mullens has been a nice surprise over the last two seasons.Earlier tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers, Mullens decided to put LaMarcus Aldridge on a poster with this one-handed dunk: (Courtesy of The Point Forward)
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- J.R. Smith hit a fallaway jumper from the left wing as time expired to give the New York Knicks a 100-98 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.
The Bobcats appeared in position to win late in the game after a miss by Raymond Felton with 14 seconds left, but rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist made an ill-advised pass and Smith intercepted it.
Byron Mullens tossed LaMarcus Aldridge on one of the more nasty posters we have seen this year. Wait, what?
You heard that correctly. During today’s game between the Trailblazers and the Bobcats the seven-foot center out of Ohio State took flight from inside the free throw line and soared over Aldridge to complete the one-handed jack hammer. Quite the athletic play from the...
While most remember that New Orleans Hornets forward Anthony Davis was the first pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, the second pick has been making noise with the Charlotte Bobcats.
During yesterday's Charlotte Bobcats/Portland Trail Blazers, Michael Kidd Gilchrist showed off his aerial flair on a fast break and skied for a two-handed jam:
J.R. Smith had a great final ten seconds of the game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night, grabbing a steal and sinking the game winner. Smith had an off night shooting, scoring only 13, but no two points were bigger than the two he hit at the buzzer for the win. Smith broke the heart of former Knick killer, and current Bobcats owner, Michael Jordan with this shot:
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Portland Trail Blazers pulled off a remarkable comeback on Monday night, rallying from an 18-point deficit in the final six minutes of regulation and beating the Charlotte Bobcats 118-112 in overtime. The Trail Blazers trailed 92-74 with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter before erupting to outscore Charlotte 28-10 to close out regulation. They tied the...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It would have been totally understandable had the Portland Trail Blazers folded down the stretch Monday night. Instead, the Blazers turned the sixth game on a grueling seven-game Eastern road trip into a night to remember. Portland rallied from an 18-point deficit in the final five-plus minutes of regulation, then pulled away for a 118-112 overtime victory...
With Carmelo Anthony on the bench due to a cut finger, the New York Knicks needed to look for a new hero to beat the Charlotte Bobcats and collect their 13th win of the season.
That hero ended up being reserve guard J.R. Smith who had the ball in his hands with the score tied at 98 with less than four seconds to go in the game.
Watch as J.R. hits the game-winner over Michael...
