Apparently in New Orleans, the Hornets have grabbed the bounty program baton from the football Saints. On Thursday, Hornets forward JASON SMITH targeted Clippers high-flyer BLAKE GRIFFIN for a hard body check during a fourth quarter fastbreak…
Smith showed no remorse in leveling Griffin, who’s been known to show no remorse on opponents’ goal with his aerial escapades. In fact, Smith gets the crowd amped as he leaves the floor after being ejected for a flagrant 2 foul.
Yet Smith felt apologetic later in the lockerroom.
“I apologize to Blake Griffin. That’s something you never want to do to another player, especially a caliber player like Blake,” Smith said. “He’s a phenomenal player. I just didn’t want to give an easy lay-up. There’s a ton of better ways to go about that. I apologize to him. That’s just not what I’m all about. I never want to hurt a player or anything like that. I just want to make sure he didn’t get an easy layup.”

Jason Smith makes a name for himself
I have nothing wrong with this at all. I know Clipper fans are calling for a beheading but let's be real, this was a great way to prevent another Blake Griffin highlight. The Hornets won the game, Jason Smith prevented a momentum swing and instead had Blake doing his best broadway display of acting by rolling around like that. Come on man, be a man, play tough. If...
Chris Paul’s mediocre return to New Orleans helps Clippers drop third straight.
NEW ORLEANS, March 23—It was a UGLY night down in New Orleans. When I say ugly I mean bowling shoe ugly. It was so ugly I wouldn’t call what happened here a basketball game, I would call it a “wrasslin” match.
In his first game back since his exodus to Los Angeles, Chris Paul was expected to come through and do what LeBron James did to the Cavaliers when he showed his face...

It would appear that some NBA players have finally gotten tired of Blake Griffin's flashy dunks and celebrations. As the Clippers were on a fastbreak, Smith raced to catch Griffin and body-checked him to the ground. It was obvious that the hit was illegal and totally unnecessary...

Jason Smith tried to take out Blake Griffin last night
I’m starting to get the feeling that players around the NBA are getting a little tired of seeing Blake Griffin catching alleys and doing powerful dunks. The Starting Lineup: Clippers Tease Us With Much-Needed Win
Watching the Clippers crush the Grizzlies was a lot of fun. We saw the Clippers do a lot of the things we want them to do. They played aggressively on both ends of the floor, earning 33 free throw attempts and forcing 16 turnovers. They didn’t take a whole lot of threes (16), and a fair amount of the threes that were taken were pretty solid looks. Blake Griffin and Chris...
