It's interesting to see player reaction after a coach gets fired. Sometimes guys show remorse, other times they show indifference. When Flip Saunders got fired yesterday, I expected to hear indifference from the Wizards players. Their 2-15 start seemed to show indifference to any of Flip's teachings.
Today, both John Wall and Andray Blatche both spoke to the Washington Post Wednesday about Flip's firing. Wall expressed shock, adding that he and Saunders had no problems.
“Me and Flip had no problems,” Wall said as the Wizards prepared to host the Charlotte Bobcats at Verizon Center Wednesday. “He just wanted me to play basketball, but there was just times when I would get frustrated with myself for not playing good, doing things like that. He was just somebody that would always send me a text message or talk to me every day and just say, ‘Keep on working and keep believing in yourself and things will get better.’ I talked to him yeste...

Andray Blatche Hears Less Boos on the Road
Andray Blatche and Washington Wizards fans aren’t exactly getting along, and the Wizards’ forward says that it’s easier for him to play in enemy territory these days. From the Washington Times: “He doesn’t have to worry about the fan reaction when his name is called during pregame introductions, or hear a chorus of boos every time he misses a shot. He does...
Greetings from Section 106!
This is my second season having season tickets. I happen to think my section is the funniest, loudest and most passionate section in the Verizon Center.
Okay I might be a little biased but hey, it’s my section!
I sit in Section 106, which is directly behind the basket and in the 4th quarter it’s the visiting teams’ basket. In close games the 106 gets to rocking. G-Man comes...
Washington Wizards fire Flip Saunders
This was probably inevitable.
After a putrid 2 and 15 start the Washington Wizards fired head coach Flip Saunders.
Saunders was in his 3rd season as coach of the Wizards and amassed a 51 and 130 record over his tenure in Washington, failing, obviously, to make the playoffs in any of his seasons.

Wizards’ JaVale McGee discusses not getting extension, deflects questions about Flip Saunders
If JaVale McGee was disappointed about not receiving a contract extension by Wednesday’s deadline, he wasn’t going to express it after the Wizards defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, 92-75.
When asked his thoughts on not getting a deal and thus becoming a restricted free agent this summer, McGee replied, “No thoughts. I’m still going to play hard and do what I do. I’m just...

Flip Saunders talks “disappointing” end to Wizards tenure
Flip Saunders was frustrated. Diplomatic, usually, but frustrated. Considered a players coach most of his career (and more passive, not a yeller), he was brought into Washington to coach a veteran team with Caron Butler, Gilbert Areas — a team that had made the playoffs the year before. Then in one instance of stupidity, the…

Washington Wizards fire Flip Saunders, because it was totally his fault
Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Washington Wizards have fired coach Flip Saunders because, as the old adage goes, "you can't fire the GM."
Um, crap. Actually, it's "you can't fire the players." You really can't fire the players, because then you'd have to hire new players to suit up for another loss the next night. You can fire the GM,...
