So exactly how much can you take out of a February home victory over a terrible team? Not much. How much can you take out of that victory when you add that the terrible team was depleted thanks to injury? Even less. I think you see the pattern...

Not much deep analysis coming on this one. A dominant performance from the home team last night. When I think about what I watched...it was just neat. Last night was just a neat victory with a lot of neat things that happened. I know it's a dorky word but I think it sums up the win pretty nicely. For instance...

It was neat to see the Blazers get off to a great start for one after starting sluggish for what seemed like forever.

It was neat to see Portland dominate a team they were supposed to dominate, instead of having to unnecessarily grind one out.

It was neat that the game was over at the end of the first 12 minutes.

It was neat to see the Blazers attacking on the break and getting easy transition buckets early and often. Have to love the dunks.

It was neat to watch Steve Blake try and pull a Scott Skiles from the early 90's. How he didn't get 20+ is beyond me. It was also neat that they gave him that last assist on Rudy's lay-up, even after Rudy took uno, dos, tres steps.

(Also if the NBA overturns that they have too much time on their hands. If I were John Lucas I'd send in a letter of complaint. Although I'm very happy with the mental image of John Lucas enjoying his dinner watching SportsCenter and upon hearing that Blake tied his record, jumping out of his chair and screaming 'THAT HONKY DID WHAT?' Tell me you didn't laugh.)

It was neat that LaMarcus finally went to work on a team he should go to work on. 13-for-20? 28 and 10? Yucky.

It was neat that lost in the shuffle was the maestro himself, B-Roy compiling a near triple-double.

It was neat to see Shavlik earn his keep for once this season. 9 and 7? Is it weird that I like him more than Channing right now?

What wasn't so neat? Michael Ruffin in a Blazer uniform.

Just a neat win to finally shower off all the stank we had on us going into the All-Star Break. Now let's see if we remember how to two-step going into Texas... --- - :gsub_string: Steve Blake :object_type: 4 :object_id: 4367 - :gsub_string: John Lucas :object_type: 4 :object_id: 4585 - :gsub_string: John Lucas :object_type: 4 :object_id: 4585 - :gsub_string: Michael Ruffin :object_type: 4 :object_id: 4700
