New coach Mike Dunlap of the Charlotte Bobcats makes no bones about it: He's intense.
That's one of the reasons Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, who knows a thing or two about intensity, put Dunlap in charge of resurrecting a team that finished with an NBA-worst 7-59 record and lost its final 23 games last season.
With Jordan looking on from the bleachers at UNC-Asheville's Kimmel Arena, Dunlap ran players through their first training camp practice.
Players said practice was swift, the energy level high and the intensity omnipresent on the floor.
That surprised no one.
Guard Gerald Henderson says the ''high energy'' Dunlap ''set the tone for this team'' the moment he walked on the floor as the Bobcats coach this past June for the first voluntary workouts.
