"Hi, I'm the other Bobcats rookie you should be worried about."Hello Trade Street Posters. Didja hear? The Bobcats have won 2 in a row.  I think that's something they call a streak.  That's right! When's the last time you've heard that one...I mean a win streak by the Bobcats?  I don't want to be the one to jinx it, but tonight the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Washington Wizards by the score: 92 to 76  Feels pretty good to be winning again.Take the jump for some highlights and some news on the trade front.   With a slow start, we all have to start sweating a little bit don't we? I know that I do. 7 fast points as the game starts by the Wizards, and I start getting that sick feeling in my stomach. Then, with a blink of an eye, the Bobcats sputter to life. They start chipping away from the deficit. They come to life and it is like something that I can't explain. Kemba Walker and Michel Kidd-Gilchrist both play with so much heart. You can see the competitive nature that they possess, and they infect the rest of the team with it.Kemba did what he's been doing all season thus far. He takes his team and he takes the court. He takes control and he leads. That leadership is exactly what this team needs this season. Watching him play so far, I forget that this will be his first full season in the NBA. Last year was a condensed, watered down, mere shadow of an NBA season. It is one that is easily worth forgetting. Forget our record & forget his performance last season. Push all of that to the side and embrace the NOW. Kemba is shaping up to be an elite PG in this league. The best part of it all is that he's a Charlotte Bobcat. Even better is that guy we got in the 1st round. We got a high motor guy who does not quit. Kemba gained a supporting cast member that could make everyone drop their jaws and just say WOW! Every game he gets better and better, doing the unthinkable, and leaving everyone wondering what will be next. Yes, I'm talking about Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. This kid is going to be special. By special...I mean he's going to be a star. Wait for it.Tonight, however, the Charlotte Bobcats spark came from Ramon Sessions. He poured in 21 points off of the bench. He penetrates the lane and gets to the foul line with ease. He had 6 of his points tonight off of 8 free throw attempts. Hustle like that is what wins basketball games. I have to also praise the team as a whole for the amount of points that they are getting in the paint. I love it when "paint points" are half of the total points on the night. I love the perimeter shots, but points in the paint just shows how hard a team is moving and working the ball around to get the easy score. That happened tonight for the Charlotte Bobcats. We only staggered a bit towards the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th ad we let our lead shrink. Just as that lead started getting uncomfortably close, we were able to extend it and get deep into the bench so that our starters could rest up for tomorrow's game against the Timberwolves. The Trade Street Post Game-breaker award goes to Ramon Sessions. Ramon seems to come off of the bench and he forces us to start scoring. He has it. I'm not entirely sure what "it" is, but he's got it. Congrats on the award Ramon. At any rate, here are some numbers for the night:Sessions = 21pts / 5 rebs / 2 assistsWalker = 17pts / 3 rebs / 2 assists / 2 stealsKidd-Gilchrist = 15pts / 8 rebs/ 2 assists / 1 blockThomas = 10pts / 6 rebs / 1 assist / 2 blocksMullens = 9pts / 6 rebs / 4 assists / 2 steals / 2 blocksHaywood = 8pts / 11 rebs/ 1 assist / 2 steals / 1 blockTaylor = 6pts / 6 rebs / 4 assists / 1 steal / 1 blockI'm proud of my Bobcats for tonight's win. I am wondering how long it will take for the monkey known as last season to get off of our backs. It's a new culture down on Trade Street, and a new team. Expect great things my Bobcats Brethren. In other news, as I got home from work, I saw that Matt Carroll, a Bobcat / Maverick / Bobcat, was now a Hornet...a New Orleans Hornet. In return we received Hakim Warrick. Basically this is an expiring contract for expiring contract swap. For a team full of Forwards, New Orleans was very willing to move him to us for a guard. The damage from this swap was that we basically took on an additional $500K in salary for a Power Forward that plays in the paint and above the rim. With Tyrus playing as spotty as he is, he's a great pickup and another veteran that can help our youth develop their game. I personally think that this was a good move for us since we were running a little heavy on guards (Rod Higgins has to let go of Cory though). Matt, we wish you the best. I never got to get with you for our interview, but maybe in the future I will.Just a brief note to everyone;Since the departure of Corey Maggette, the Cats Crazies lost their main financial supporter that got the Crazies into every game to cheer and support the Bobcats, and to lead the crowd in cheering for the Bobcats. Our purpose is to get the arena as wild and crazy as we can, and getting the fans LOUD. The players feed off of that and they love to hear the fans getting into the game. Gerald Henderson was also a contributor, but he can't do it alone. The organization is currently working on some options to get us back, and tonight, there was a small group attending that represented the CatsCrazies. I am certain that they did us proud. Hopefully we can get some support back and we'll be back at full power in the Cable Box, getting the crowd into the game and getting loud enough to blow the roof off of the joint. Keep your eyes open Bobcats fans...we'll be back soon! Some folks have been discussing who should be co-captain now that Matt Carroll is gone. I saw the discussion on Twitter, and on Facebook. Facebook was full of the usual comments that poke fun at our team. The usual "Ha Ha you traded away a captain? How Lame!"Yeah, those comments make me mad, but with every well-played game, the comments are easier and easier to ignore. I've not heard many suggestions for a co-captain, but I will throw my hat in the ring. This may not be the thought of everyone, but I say that Kemba Walker should be the co-captain. He's a NBA sophomore, but his ability to lead this team makes me thing that this is the guy who I want to be captain for years to come. What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. Comment on it here at Trade Street Post.
