CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats say they have acquired forward Hakim Warrick from the New Orleans Hornets for guard Matt Carroll. In 499 games over eight NBA seasons with five teams, the 6-foot-9 Warrick has averaged 9.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and a .494 field goal percentage. Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins says Tuesday, "We are very excited to add a player of Hakim's ability and overall NBA experience. His athleticism allows him to play multiple positions, which will make for a smooth transition into our current roster and style of play under coach Mike Dunlap." Warrick played in only one game this season after being acquired by the Hornets in July.

Warrick brings Bobcats experience down low

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats parted ways with veteran guard Matt Carroll on Tuesday, sending him to New Orleans for forward Hakim Warrick. Warrick comes over after playing in just one game, but he should give the team more veteran experience down low. His next game will be the 500th of his seven-year career. We are very excited to add a player of Hakims ability and...

My Favorite Early NBA Highlight Features Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Losing a Shoe

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored a career-high 25 points Saturday night during the Bobcats overtime win over the Mavericks. The most notable points came on this coast-to-coast basket where he lost his shoe, jumped off his sock-foot and scored with the foul. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. MKG was one of the best picks coming out of this past year’s draft. It’s early on...
