Bobcats waive combo guard Jefferson

(By Rick Bonnell, Inside the NBA) The Charlotte Bobcats have waived combo guard Dontell Jefferson, trimming the roster to 15. Jefferson had an unguaranteed contract for this season, so the Bobcats don't owe him anything going forward.Notice that the Bobcats haven't waived undrafted rookie Antonio Anderson. I should think that will still happen before the season opener Wednesday in Boston, but with Raja Bell and Flip Murray both hurt, it makes some sense to retain alternatives at shooting guard.
