Picture The Boston Celtics went into Game 4 Sunday night trailing in the series 2-1, but with the game at home there was a lot on their side. Coming off a big win Friday Night against the Miami Heat to keep from being swept, the Celtics charged into Game 4 on a tear, staying in the lead for the majority of the game. After the half though is when the Heat started to close the gap eventually coming back to take the lead in the fourth quarter. The Celtics were able to tie the game back up at the end of the quarter with Udonis Haslam missing a crucial shot to win the game, sending it into overtime.

Once in overtime Paul Pierce fouled out early leaving the Celtics shorthanded, but things evened out when Lebron James fouled out for the first in his career with the Heat. The Celtics were then able to hold the Heat to only one basket, with Dwayne Wade missing an open 3-pointer which could have potentially won the game.

Game 5 will take place at Miami's home court where the Celtics have struggled so far this series. If Rajon Rondo can keep up with the aggressiveness he's been showing recently it should be quite a matchup. That's not to say that Miami should be overlooked at all as Chris Bosh is reported to return for Game 5 and Wade having slow starts in the past two games. The game is scheduled to start at 830 PM Tuesday night and it will be one you won't want to miss.

TL;DR The Boston Celtics hold on to win against the Miami Heat in overtime Sunday night.

Paul Pierce hits big three over LeBron

Oh my... If the Celtics are able to close out this series, we're gonna be talking about this shot for a long time. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7 years... but for a long time. (Video courtesy @jose3030)

Paul Pierce's late-game three sparks Celtics over Heat, BOS: 94 MIA: 90

After trailing by 13 in the first half to the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics rallied back to eventually take a five point lead at the end of the third. It was a seesaw from there on as the Celtics and Heat both traded leads in the fourth. As so often is the case in a close fourth quarter, one play can make the difference. It was Paul Pierce who took the dagger and drove it into...

Dwyane Wade or Paul Pierce?

PAULPIERCE!!! Came up with a huge three pointer tonight to help the Celtics take a 3-2 series lead over the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Pierce and one of Miami’s ‘big three’, Dwyane Wade have both been involved in some pretty odd injury ordeals. Pierce, channeling Willis Reed, hurt his knee in Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals against the LA Lakers and had to...

Paul Pierce Felt Confident in Late Three-Pointer, Rajon Rondo Just Pleased to Get Big Win (Video)

Paul Pierce received the ball with under a minute to go and some room to breath in front of the 3-point line. The Celtics captain didn't bother pump faking or even attempting to drive to the hoop, as he was as confident as ever that he could seal a colossal Game 5 win with one stroke of the netting. Pierce sunk the clutch 3-pointer with :52 seconds to play in Tuesday night'...

Comments from the other side - ECF - Heat Game 5 6/5

What an exciting game!   I have to admit that I was very surprised that the officiating was even.  Good job by the officials for the most part.  But I know that the Heat fans didn't feel that way since they didn't get their usual +20 free throw advantage.   It is just amazing how Heat fans turn on their own team and players.  Wow!  No loyalty whatsoever.   My...

Doc Rivers Plays It Safe, Smart With Celtics' Lack of Practice in Playoffs

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Paul Pierce was in street clothes, while Rajon Rondo shuffled around in flip-flops. On their one-day break between Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics were not about to be mistaken for the Richmond High School boys basketball team engaging in one of the grueling practices from Coach Carter. Days off are almost precisely that for the Celtics...

Dwyane Wade Impacts Games Defensively Against Celtics Despite Shooting Struggles

Paul Pierce drove the lane and bulled past Shane Battier just as Dwyane Wade shifted over on defense. As Pierce went up for the layup, Wade took off as well, grabbing the ball with both hands and wresting it away from Pierce. On that second-quarter play in Sunday's Game 4, despite the howls from the TD Garden crowd for a foul, Wade did not look like the ineffective, absent star...

Balance effort by Celtics even series at two games with 93-91 overtime win

Fouls weren't hard to come by in this game as we saw Paul Pierce and Lebron James foul out.  Boston jumped out to an early lead in this game while coasting to the fourth quarter.  Miami Heat wasn't going to let this game coast, which saw an 18 point deficit. Credit Lebron James 29 point effort to keep Miami close during the early parts of this game. The Celtics have...

Forget the Heat, Celtics are the Real Story

Take a trip back to February 22nd. The Boston Celtics had a record of 15-17, were almost out of the playoff picture, and were on a five game losing streak. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett all were being tagged with the “washed up” label, and the story around this team was whether or not it was time to move forward and start a new era of C’s basketball at the trade...

Does the pick-and-pop game return for KG and the Celtics tonight?

Doc Rivers has been stressing the post game so much that I wouldn't be surprised if the team put a shock collar on him and set it to go off 5 feet from the rim.  And as you can see from one Jay's videos from the Greenlights earlier today, it really paid off. But the playoffs are all about matchup and adjustments.  KG is taller than all of the Heat, and the C's...

Which Celtics Bench Player Will Have the Biggest Impact on Game 4?

The Big Four can only take the Celtics so far. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen aren't getting any younger, and Game 2 proved that even when Rajon Rondo takes over, a Celtics win is not guaranteed. In order to take down the Miami Heat and advance to the NBA Finals, the Celtics need to get contributions off the bench. In Game 3, Marquis Daniels stepped up, providing energy...

Nonsensical blabber at 5 am from a Celtics fan

Dwayne Wade had 27 points.  Lebron James had 30.  The Heat had their home crowd dressed all in white behind them.  Miami out rebounded Boston 49-39.  Paul Pierce shot 6-19.  Ray Allen made just 2 of 9 field goal attempts.  And Rajon Rondo hit only 3 of the 15 shots he put up.  Yet somehow the Celtics won their third straight game in this series. What the Celtics are doing...
