Boston Celtics: Grading the KG/ Pierce to Brooklyn Trade

As we all know, Boston has entered the rebuilding process once again. One thing about this summer’s process, is that the Celtics have more pieces to build around, such as Jeff Green, Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger.
The year all Boston fans have dreaded, has finally come, as Ainge had shipped away two of Boston’s top icons, in Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Atlantic Division rivals, the Brooklyn Nets.
The first thing you’ll think about this trade is probably somewhere along the lines of “Wow, how could Ainge be so stupid?” But as a diehard Celtics fan and someone who wants to see none other than Banner 18 hoisted into the rafters at TD Garden, I personally find this trade a smart move on our part.
Pierce and Garnett are nearing retirement and we all know that. Yes, they were a huge part of our history and I would love to watch them play the remainder of their careers in green and white,...
