Brandon Roy was forced to prematurely retire prior to this season because of his chronic knee problems. And while he’s reportedly mulling a return to basketball, for now he’s just being a dad, husband and basketball fan. On Tuesday, Roy was in the Rose Garden watching his former teammates (or what’s left of them) play the Bucks and received a standing ovation from the Blazers faithful when he arrived during the second quarter. It was his first trip back to the building where he helped lead the franchise out of the “Jail Blazers” era and back to relevancy. Unfortunately, Roy’s presence wasn’t enough to inspire the team to at least momentarily pause its rapid plunge into the abyss. The Bucks pounded the Blazers, 116-87.

Can two draft busts help the Portland Trail Blazers rebuild?
What did Portland get at the deadline?
We all know the NBA deals that transpired last Thursday morning, and after a weekend spent drowning away my sorrows for the loss of Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby, its time to try to figure out what the new guys actually bring to the team.
Let’s start with the players who will bring nothing to Rip City.
It’s no secret that Portland made...
Brandon Roy unexpectedly shows at the Rose Garden
Brandon Roy unexpectedly appeared at the Trail Blazers' game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, his first visit to the Rose Garden since his abrupt retirement at the opening of training camp.
The three-time All-Star sat courtside with wife Tiana and was given a standing ovation when he was shown on the video scoreboard. Team owner Paul Allen was among those standing...
Nate McMillan is all class on his way out of Portland
They were the Jailblazers before he got there, it's only fair people remember that. For as much as he did in Portland during his seven years as the Head Coach of the Trailblazers though, Nate McMillan was still fired last week anyways. He spoke to the media on Tuesday for the first time, and despite the unceremonious way he was discharged, we wasn't throwing anybody under...
Blazers say it’s time to skate Nate!
Former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan. The Portland Trail Blazers made a smart move on Thursday by firing micro-managing head coach Nate McMillan in order to begin a massive rebuilding mode that will take place in earnest as soon as the 2011-12 regular season ends.Unfortunately for the Blazers and McMillan the once-respected head coach was never able to quite get...
POTD 3/20/12: Mbah A Moute on Luke Babbitt
Is it still Luke on Luke violence if one of the Lukes spells his name with a “c”? I figure it is. Anyway, I really wanted to give this to Markieff Morris because I’m partial to any dunk that looks at all similar to Stromile Swift on Yao Ming, but I’ve accepted that Mbah A Moute’s long leap from the dotted line makes his and-one facial the superior of the two…

Portland's Hasheem Thabeet gets blocked by rim on dunk attempt (Video)
During last night's Trail Blazers/Milwaukee Bucks affair, newly-acquired Portland center Hasheem Thabeet attempted to throw down an alley-oop dunk from teammate Johnny Flynn. Instead of a tremendous dunk, Thabeet got blocked by the rim:

The Blazers waived Mehmet Okur.
Another day, another loss for Blazers
After a crazy road trip that all but ended Portland’s season they returned home and continued their D-League level of play.
The only highlight for the Blazers tonight was a surprise appearance by three-time All-Star Brandon Roy, who made his first visit to the Rose Garden since his abrupt retirement at the start of training camp. The crowd cheered wildly as he was shown on the...

Canales settles into new role with the Blazers
(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By ANNE M. PETERSON AP Sports Writer It is said that Kaleb Canales spends so much time at the Trail Blazers' practice facility that he's got a bedroom there.
Truth is, Canales sleeps many nights on a couch in the building. But rest has been rare recently for Portland's new interim head coach, who started with the team...

Blazers All Access Coaching Search
No offense to Kaleb Canales, the video intern turned head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, but when news that the pink slip had been handed to Nate McMillan, one would have thought that the team may have had something…anything, in mind rather than what seemed at the time to be similar to that of throwing a dart and running with the person...
