By Art Garcia, The Sports Xchange DALLAS -- The Mavericks and Timberwolves both have losing records, but they're going in opposite directions. Dallas has won three straight after Monday night's 113-98 pasting at American Airlines Center that sent Minnesota to its fourth loss in a row. Elton Brand scored a season-high 20 points off the bench for the Mavericks, who improved to 16-23 and are in the midst of their longest winning streak since early December. The Dallas backcourt of O.J. Mayo and Darren Collison combined for 43 points. "Elton played great," Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. "He's shooting well and he's rebounding well. He's giving us a physical presence from the inside and that's what we need from him." The Mavericks never trailed and broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Wolves 36-25. Minnesota (16-19) hasn't been competitive during its skid. The four setbacks, all on the road, have been by an ...

The Dallas Mavericks are off to a rough 15-23 start to the season, and at the moment they look like a team that could be destined for the playoff bubble. DALLAS (AP) -- Mark Cuban says he plans to keep star Dirk Nowitzki even though the Dallas Mavericks have their worst record since a few months after he bought the team in 2000.
Cuban said before Saturday night's game against Memphis that he wanted to be clear with Nowitzki that he was committed "through thick and thin" to getting the team back in contention.
According to the boss, Dirk isn't going anywhere
Even though it hasn't been discussed widely thus far this season, Dallas Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban has dismissed the notion that his struggling team--sitting at 10 games under .500 in recent days--will trade superstar and long-time franchise player Dirk Nowitzki to clear cap and accelerate the inevitable...
There is a little less than six weeks remaining until the NBA trade deadline, and theDallas Mavericks will once again be right in the middle of the rumor mill.
“There’s a 100 percent chance that we’re going to try to do something,” Mark Cuban said.

DALLAS (AP) -- Darren Collison led six players in double figures with 23 points and the Dallas Mavericks matched their season high with a third straight win in a 113-98 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.
The Mavericks overcame an early spark from former Dallas guard J.J. Barea, who became a starter midway through the 2011 NBA finals against Miami and helped...
(Photo Credit: The Associated Press) With Dirk fully back from his knee injury, and Elton Brand looking rejuvenated, we’ve been graced with some Mavericks basketball of old over the past three games. Not to mention, Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo, two of the streakiest players in the NBA, have been tearing it up. My only question, [...]
Mavs Add Elton Brand
As both of the announcers in the below video point out, it’s probably the best defense anyone from Sacramento has played all year.
During Thursday’s 117-112 overtime win by the Dallas Mavericks over the Sacramento Kings, late in the fourth quarter the officials gathered up for a very common video review. Now, who knew that the NBA had a security guard stand in front of the refs...
Darren Collison now runs the floor where J.J. Barea was the spark that helped rally the Dallas Mavericks to their first championship two seasons ago.
Dallas' new point guard made sure one of his predecessors didn't finish off another comeback Monday night.
Collison led six players in double figures with 23 points and the Mavericks matched their season high with a third...

While Mark Cuban is keeping busy figuring out trade possibilities for his struggling Dallas Mavericks, the billionaire investor still has time for some fun — Mark was spotted at Dr. Dre’s party the other night having a ball. The look on his face says it all.-TO
Mark Cuban Caught Napping?
Whoop ‘Em Mavericks Style
Mark Cuban has been active with Donnie Nelson searching for ways to improve the Mavericks ahead of the Feb. 21 deadline.
Over the weekend, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was doing his best to check out a review near the end of the Mavericks/Kings game at Sleep Train Arena. As Dirk attempted to get a better look at the review, a Kings security guard did his best to block of the path of Dirk from getting a closer look:
Dirk Nowitzki has been the Dallas Mavericks' preeminent scorer through nearly all of his 15 seasons, but he hasn't had to carry the load during one of the team's longest win streaks of 2012-13.
Looking for another balanced effort, Dallas will seek a season-high fourth consecutive victory Wednesday night while trying to add to its recent dominance over the struggling...
Dirk Nowitzki will likely not be a factor in Dwight Howard's decision beyond the consideration of on-floor fit.
While it's been a frustrating season for the Dallas Mavericks, they may be ready to finally put it all together.
The Mavericks aim for a season best-tying third consecutive win Monday night as they face the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves, who try to avoid a winless four-game road trip.
Dallas (15-23), which fell 10 games under .500 for the first time in 13 years Wednesday...
