This just in from the Associated Press, the Denver Nuggets have decided to re-sign backup point guard Anthony Carter to bolster the Nuggets' bench.
Denver's bench has been seemingly depleted by the departure of Dahntay Jones to Indiana and Linas Kleiza to Europe and Greece. In his three-year career with the Nuggets, Carter has averaged 6.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and had 4.7 assists per game in 2008-09.
Nuggets' executive Mark Warkentein said of the deal, "AC's loyalty to [owner] Stan Kroenke, George Karl and Denver is exemplary, rarely seen in professional athletics today." Carter's deal is reported at one-year at $1.35 million.
This move is not "stop the press" worthy by the Nuggets, as it was the second most likely deal Denver was to make this offseason, after the signing of Chris "Birdman" Andersen.
Now the Nuggets must go out and meet more pressing needs, that of a shooter/defender that can play the 2-3 spot, and another backup ...
