Bronny James gets hot, finishes second place in NBA Draft Combine 3-point shooting drill
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Bronny James showed off his long-range shooting ability at the NBA Draft Combine on Monday. Video emerged of the USC guard taking part in a 3-point drill in which he was seen knocking down several shots while jogging in between locations.

James reportedly made 19-of-25 to finish second place among the participants. He is one of several players looking to impress NBA scouts at the combine, which takes place all of this week in Chicago.

James shot just 26.7% from 3-point range this past season as a true freshman for the Trojans, so this performance is encouraging to see. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 19.3 minutes per game after missing the beginning of the season due to a heart condition.

Bronny James has been medically cleared to play in the NBA, where he will join his father LeBron James, the league’s all-time scoring leader. It was reported Monday that he is expected to keep his name in the 2024 NBA Draft despite having the option to withdraw before June 16.

Despite being the son of an NBA legend, Bronny James doesn’t come in highly rated according to most NBA Draft experts. The Ringer‘s Kevin O’Connor ranked him as the No. 69 overall prospect in his recent draft guide, and there are only 60 picks to go around,.

That is why his performance at the NBA Draft Combine this week will be critical as he aims to improve his stock. He’ll look to build upon his showing in the 3-point drills with many more to come.

The 2024 NBA Draft is set to take place June 26 and 27 in Brooklyn.

Official measurements revealed for Bronny James at 2024 NBA Draft Combine

As Bronny James arrived at the NBA Draft Combine, his official measurements were released Monday. Despite being listed at 6-foot-4 according to USC’s roster, he came in more than two inches shorter.

You can view his full measurements below:

Height (without shoes): 6’1.50”
Standing reach: 8’2.50”
Wingspan: 6’7.25”
Hand length: 8.50 inches
Hand width: 9.50 inches

James comes in pretty short compared to most NBA guards, standing right between 6’1 and 6’2. However, he does have a pretty impressive wingspan over 6’7, roughly six inches longer than his listed height — a physical trait that NBA teams typically like to see.

As more testing gets underway throughout the week, we’ll know more measurements soon, such as James’ vertical leap.
