Coach: Nets not a championship team

The Nets have moved to Brooklyn and made their move to make Deron Williams their star player. They would also acquire different pieces to surround Williams with and are inclined to start winning. Their own head coach thinks everyone should slow down because the Brooklyn Nets are “not a championship team.” If your own coach does not believe in your team, then something is obviously wrong. According to ESPN New York, Nets head coach Avery Johnson was in Texas talking to a group of high school students and said:

We’re not there yet. We’re not a championship team. We got a lot of work to do. But at the same time, we have a much better talent pool than we’ve had the last two years. We’re much more versatile than we’ve ever been. Right now, we look good on paper. Now we got to take it from looking good on paper and apply the work to go forward.

The Nets are definitely still a young team and have a lot more to accomplish before becoming a championship-caliber team. They are on the right foot by moving to Brooklyn and making Deron Williams their star.
