NEW YORK -- Brandon Jennings scored 18 of his game-high 26 points in the first half, and Monta Ellis finished with 24 points, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 97-88 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night at the Barclays Center. Milwaukee almost blew a 29-point, second-half lead. It was the 12th straight victory for the Bucks over the Nets, dating back to March 3, 2009. Milwaukee (10-9) earned its second straight win, while the Nets (11-8) lost their fourth game in a row. Brooklyn's losing streak immediately followed a five-game winning streak. The Bucks rebounded from a slow start to take command late in the first quarter, then gradually pulled away as the Nets struggled mightily from the perimeter. Besides Jennings and Ellis, the Bucks received 13 points from Marquis Daniels and 10 from Ersan Ilyasova. Deron Williams led the Nets with 18 points, but he shot just 8-for-19 from the floor. Gerald Wallace, who sparked the second-half comeback as the Nets cut the...

When Larry Sanders said he wanted to start a block party this season, he wasn't messing around.
After a four block performance Sunday in Brooklyn, Sanders is now the NBA's leader in blocked shots per game at 3.11, passing Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka.
In his last six games, Sanders has 32 blocked shots (5.3 per game), the same number Milwaukee's opponents have blocked...
Bucks forward Ekpe Udoh left Sunday's 97-88 victory in Brooklyn with left wrist pain and did not return.
Udoh came out after committing a shooting foul on Nets center Andray Blatche with 9:33 left in the second quarter, finishing with three points, two assists and two blocks in 12 minutes.
Inserted into the starting lineup last Saturday, Udoh entered Sunday's game averaging...
Monta Ellis is shooting just 38.9 percent this season.
MILWAUKEE -- Coaches don't wear uniforms. So, Marquette coach Buzz Williams needed a way to pay homage to former MU coach Rick Majerus.
What he came up with was pretty meaningful. Tossing off his usual coat and tie, Williams wore Majerus' trademark black turtleneck.
"I wanted to be respectful," Williams said. "I just wanted to have it be as a tribute. Our...
Milwaukee Bucks (9-9) vs. Brooklyn Nets (11-7)
Brandon Jennings has not always been quiet in his career. His career started a year early as he and Sonny Vaccaro launched an aggressive and surprising move to go to Italy instead of play the obligatory year in college. Jennings' gunner style did not quite fit Euroleague and it caused him to slip in the Draft some.
Maybe a new home and look will get the Brooklyn Nets over the hump against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Nets go for their first win in this series in nearly four years as they host the Bucks on Sunday night.
Milwaukee has won the past 11 meetings, with its last loss coming March 3, 2009, but those all came when the Nets were based in New Jersey. Those games also were before Brooklyn...
Brooklyn Nets coach Avery Johnson admitted Sunday that center Brook Lopez is recovering slower from a mild right foot sprain than the team initially expected.
Lopez missed his fifth straight game on Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. He is still not ready to practice despite suffering the injury on Nov. 28.
“I think it’s approaching that point now, because obviously...
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New Jersey Nets on Sunday. The Nets almost erased a 29 point deficit, but the Bucks hit some timely shots, and held on to win 97-88. The Bucks move to 10-9 on the year. Jennings finished with 26pts, 7assists, and 5 steals.
Positives: The Bucks ability to block shots resulted in the Nets never being able to find an offensive rhythm. The team had...
The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night, 108-93. The Bucks controlled this one from the start. They took a 15 point lead in the first, and they never let the Bobcats make a serious run. The Bucks were without Udrih and Dunleavy again, but they got solid contributions from everyone, and actually looked like they found an identity with their lineup (despite...
The Brooklyn Nets could be getting the help they need to break a four-game slide in time for another visit by the New York Knicks.
Brook Lopez turned in a big game the first time these Atlantic Division rivals met and could be back for Tuesday night's matchup.
Brooklyn (11-8) won 96-89 in overtime over New York (15-5) at home on Nov. 26. The game was originally scheduled as...
With another strong offensive performance from Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis, the Milwaukee Bucks should have a good chance to match their longest winning streak of the season Wednesday night.
The backcourt duo can help the Bucks to a third consecutive victory as they try to avoid a third straight loss to the visiting Sacramento Kings.
Jennings scored 26 points and Ellis added...
As is often the case with NBA scheduling, mercy is in short supply. The guys have been dealing with some especially hard knocks of late. Perhaps, the scheduling gods thought, the time is ripe for an away/home back-to-back. Starting things off is a trip up to Milwaukee for a game against the streaking Bucks. Luckily for the Bobcats, the “Deer” have been streaking in the same direction...
