As you can see above referee Bill Kennedy’s night didn’t get off to a rousing start, as he took a Larry Sanders unintentional elbow right to the kisser on the opening tip-off of Monday night’s Bucks-Bobcats game. Kennedy was dropped like a bag of potatoes, and play was stopped immediately as the fallen official was tended to by medical staff. To his credit Kennedy stayed in the game, won easily by Milwaukee 131-102. Sanders, meanwhile, scored a career high 24 points to go along with 13 rebounds in the winning cause.
This isn’t the first time Bill Kennedy has been taken out by a player during a game, as it was almost a year to the day that the Knicks’ Landry Fields bowled over Kennedy in a game against the Magic. Wonder how his insurance premiums compare to other NBA referees, seeing he has a penchant for getting drilled by players during game action?
