Your Milwaukee Bucks are 2-0 to start the season for the first time in about 5 years. Brandon “Swizel Stick” Jennings hit a three ball at the buzzer to send the Bucks to a 105-102 victory. Kind of an interesting game for the Bucks. The first unit wasn’t really thriving all night, but the second unit (udrih, Udo, Dunleavy, etc) stepped up big and rallied the Bucks back into the game on several occassions. Dunleavy was huge off the bench – seemed like he couldn’t miss from 3 ball land, and he ended up with 29 points. Ellis had a steady 23, and Jennings had 13 assists again. Larry Sanders fouled out, but had some critical 4th quarter buckets before doing so. Beno was a sparkplug off the bench. Kind of an inconsistent game for the Bucks on both ends, but everybody contributed, and they found a way to grind out the victory. And despite a rough shooting night for Jennings, he bailed em out and hit the big one when it mattered. Branchise folks, Branchise. Rookie Doran Lamb played six minutes, failed to record a stat, but I like the kids effort and energy. In other interersting news from the broadcast: 1) I learned that Johnny McGlocklin scored the first points in Bucks history on 10/16/1968. The damn Bucks have been around for 45 years. 2) Hippie Luke Walton plays for the Cavs now. Man I bet he misses LA. 3) At one point during the broadcast, it sounded like Johnny McGlocklin was having a stroke. However, upon further review, he was just trying to give the play by play on an assist from Udoh to Udrih. The U’s really tangled him up. These are the only two guys in the league with last names starting in U, and poor Johnny Mac gets stuck with them both. 4) It is now called the BMO Harris Bradley Center. McGlocklin hasn’t said it yet, but trust me, he will at some point say “BMO stands for Bring More Optimism to the Bradley Center with you this year, because this years squad is scrappy and finds a way to win.” The Bucks are 2-0 folks. Time to get on the band wagon. Memphis Grizzlies are up next. This will be a tough matchup for the Buckies. (In other news, the Lakers are 0-3. Also, James Hardin seems to be worth all the money the Rockets committed to him – the guy is killing it.)
