MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger has been cleared by doctors to start doing agility drills while he works his way back from a knee injury that has kept him out for most of the season.
The team says Budinger was cleared on Monday and will start doing more running on the court in addition to some cutting and jumping on his surgically repaired left knee. Budinger will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks, putting his return to the court likely closer to the end of March.
He tore the lateral meniscus in his knee in the sixth game of the season. The loss robbed the Wolves of a much-needed perimeter shooter and versatile swingman.
The Wolves start a three-game road trip in Phoenix on Tuesday.

Time is running out on Kevin Love's season. The Minnesota Timberwolves' star power forward says his surgically repaired right hand is better than when he broke it in the preseason, and he's hoping to return in time for the Wolves' last 15 to 20 games of the season.
The Timberwolves have 29 games left, so that would put Love's timeline for return at around...

MINNEAPOLIS The chances were there for the Minnesota Timberwolves to win. But after several missed opportunities, Sunday's game finished just like too many others have this year.
After building a 16-point first-half lead, Minnesota saw that margin dwindle in the second half. Unable to make plays down the stretch, the Wolves fell by one to the visiting Golden State Warriors...
Ricky Rubio made some sweet dishes in Minnesota's loss Sunday to the Golden State Warriors. Visual evidence of that after the jump.
The phenomenal point guard nearly triple-doubled with 16 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, and six steals. Rubio looked like the pre-ACL tear Rubio. He also did some very Rubio things, making just 3-of-11 shots and turning the ball over six...
