Bulls GM Marc Eversley in the Mix for Pistons' Front-Office Opening
Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

When Chicago Bulls vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas brought general manager Marc Eversley into the fold, it was well known Eversley was at the top of his class. NBA experts predicted Eversley would be a candidate for numerous front-office jobs in the future, and those rumblings have picked up steam once again.

According to multiple reports , Eversley is a candidate for the Detroit Pistons' president of basketball operations position. Dennis Lindsey and Trajan Langdon are the other names in the running.

If Eversley were to depart, it would allow Karnisovas to find another new voice to help build his roster. Eversley is known to be very connected and has helped shape Bulls' personnel. He helped bring in assistant coach John Bryant, who will move from the back to the front of the bench next season.

But with the past two seasons resulting in Play-In losses, things aren't working. While the Bulls' struggles may not be Eversley's fault, Karnisovas could use the opportunity to find another GM who's more focused on retooling.

Eversley was brought in to help build a roster around Zach LaVine. Now, it seems the Bulls are trending toward moving on from that plan and retooling around DeMar DeRozan.
