Bynum ‘Pinned’ for Latest Setback

Sixers need Andrew Bynum’s presence When an NBA franchise is starving for a championship, the last thing it wants to hear is that the center piece of the blockbuster trade they made during the offseason, to help satisfy the hunger, hurt himself more while doing something other than playing basketball. But that’s just what the Philadelphia 76ers are facing  surrounding center, Andrew Bynum’s renowned knee issues. According to an ESPN report, Bynum, already sidelined with a right knee bruise, apparently has the same injury to his left knee which occurred while bowling earlier this month. Bynum hasn’t played in a game this season, after being acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers in 4-team deal that sent Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. The Sixers are currently 5-4 and lack the low-post presence Bynum provides. Earlier this week it was reported that Bynum would be able to return to basketball activities on Dec. 1o, but now there is no timetable for his return after this latest setback. Bynum is in the final year of his contract that will pay him just under $17 million. And with these new developments, he may become a free agent without ever suiting up for the Sixers and believe it or not, it could still be a win-win situation.
