Philadelphia 76ers center Andrew Bynum took the occasion of a game against his former team to take a bit of a shot at former teammate Kobe Bryant. Bynum, 25 spent seven seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he averaged a career-high 18.7 points last season before he was dealt to the Lakers in a four-team trade last summer. Speaking of playing with Bryant, Bynum told reporters, "I thought it really helped me a lot obviously at first, because he draws so much attention it's hard for guys to double team and key on you, so it helped me tremendously. Later, I felt I was able to get the ball more and do more things with the ball, so I could definitely see how it could stunt growth." Bynum added of Dwight Howard, who replaced him as the Lakers' center, "I think Dwight is a great player, but he's going to have to get accustomed to playing with Kobe and not touching the ball every single play." Bynum has yet to play for the 76ers this season due to ...

Andrew Bynum Hits Gentlemen’s Club In Slippers

Andrew Bynum sure seems comfortable in Philadelphia, as evidenced earlier this week when he opted to wear slippers sans socks at a hotel bar before heading to a local upscale Gentlemen’s Club, Penthouse Club Philadelphia, for some late night entertainment: According to the photographer, @DamePeriod: “Nah yo. Bynum gotta die b. He got on house slippers and no socks at the bar...

Andrew Bynum: Los Angeles Lakers “traded No. 1 for No. 2″

The thing I love about Andrew Bynum lately is he will say whatever and he doesn’t care about your personal opinion, he lacks discretion and judgement and while it may displease 76rs fans, it’s a freakin delight to nearly every other fan base in the league. Sunday night the Lakers defeated the Sixers, and afterwards [...]The post Andrew Bynum: Los Angeles Lakers “traded No....

Bynum says Kobe 'stunted his growth'

Andrew Bynum has yet to see the floor as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, so we are still waiting to see what he will look like finally playing outside the shadow of former teammate Kobe Bryant. I would think that playing alongside Kobe would be a good thing. He draws the majority of the attention from the defense, meaning that his teammates get solid looks at the basket and...

Andrew Bynum says Kobe Bryant stunted his growth as a player

In an interesting ready by ESPN Los Angeles, Andrew Bynum offered his opinion on playing with NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant.  This comment had such perfect timing since the Lakers played the 76ers last night and the fact that Bynum was traded to Philadelphia this past summer in order to get Dwight Howard.  Bynum felt that playing with Kobe really hurt his game due to the fact that the...

Andrew Bynum says he’s the top center in the NBA ahead of Dwight Howard

For someone who has yet to play a game for the Philadelphia 76ers or prove that he can be a difference-maker for their franchise, Andrew Bynum is awfully confident. While it’s still incredibly early, you could make the argument at the moment that the Los Angeles Lakers were better with Bynum than they are with Dwight Howard. A number of other factors are at play, but Bynum still...

Afternoon Delight: Stunted Coconut

So Andrew Bynum got serious when interviewed prior to the Lakers-Sixers game last Sunday - telling ESPN how he felt his growth as an NBA player was hampered by playing alongside Kobe: "I thought it really helped me a lot obviously at first, because he draws so much attention it's hard for guys to double team and key on you, so it helped me tremendously," Bynum told...

Andrew Bynum Says Kobe Bryant Stunted His Play, Warns It Could Happen Again With Dwight Howard

Andrew Bynum is 7 feet tall and supposed to be one of the NBA’s best centers. Instead, he’s spent most of this season working back from knee injuries amidst reports that he’d rather be bowling (which complicated one of the knee injuries) or just not playing basketball at all. Still, Bynum has apparently found some room to throw stones when it comes to explaining why his career...
