Waiting For Next Year:
Annoying in a bad way? I would say that in a good way. Who said it? Man or woman? Did he ever play the game of basketball? I don’t think so. Saying that about Andy to me is a sign of respect. His game is annoying? I think it is for guys who have to guard him, yeah. You know you’re not going to get a day off. The shot goes up, he’s coming, both ends of the floor. So if I’m an opponent playing against him, yeah, he can be annoying because I’ve got to worry about him every second that I’m on the floor. From a coaching standpoint, you almost got to defensive plan against him. Sometimes you need a guy and a half to block him out every single time. I don’t know who said it. I don’t really care. But he doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about…tell him I said that.
– Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott, Thursday, when discussing the recent criticism of center Anderson Varejao’s overall game being labled as “annoying.” In the Cavaliers’ Opening Night win over the Washington Wizards, Varejao amassed a career-high 23 rebounds to go with nine points and team-high nine assists.

Opening night was a blast, but it failed to provide us with the regular season’s first Poster of the Day. Fortunately, this doesn’t mean the evening was completely devoid of spectacular aerial exploits. As the Heat put it to the Celtics, LeBron James could be found streaking through the lane and rising high above the rim. And, in Cleveland, Tristan Thompson helped Kyrie...
