Newly-acquired point guard Jose Calderon has been cleared to play for the Detroit Pistons. Calderon was dealt to the Pistons from the Toronto Raptors last Wednesday as part of a three-team trade but could not report to the Pistons because of unresolved visa issues. The Spanish-born Calderon is expected to play Monday night at the New York Knicks. Calderon is averaging 11.1 points and 7.4 assists per game. Detroit got Calderon from Toronto in a deal that sent Tayshaun Prince from Detroit to the Memphis Grizzlies and the Grizzlies sending Rudy Gray to Toronto. Calderon missed two games because of the visa problem.
