Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle was $25,000 by the NBA on Saturday for criticizing the officiating after Dallas' loss to Golden State. With the Mavs trailing 98-97 on Thursday, Brandan Wright had the ball knocked away while going up for a shot, and no foul was called. The Warriors went on to win 100-97 at home. Carlisle was particularly frustrated because the NBA had acknowledged the referees made a mistake in the final seconds of a loss at Portland two days earlier. O.J. Mayo was called for a charge with 1.5 seconds left in a tie game, and the league conceded the next day it should have been a blocking foul, which would have given the Mavericks two free throws to try to take the lead. Instead, LaMarcus Aldridge hit a buzzer-beater to win it. ''The game came down to the call that wasn't made. Brandan Wright got hit on the arm,'' Carlisle said Thursday. ''And it's obvious. And it's two (games) in a row. ... And I'm very concerned about what's happening at the end of games with the officials. I can only be honest.'' On Saturday, Carlisle sent a text message to reporters saying he spoke to the league office and agreed with the fine. He said the comments were ''not appropriate.''

Video: Vince Carter fakes an injury and then dunks

This is some wily old veteran type junk right here. Long ago are the days of Vince Carter just getting the ball and dunking over people. Though the Dallas Mavericks guard/forward can still get above the rim, he cannot do it without a little use of the old noggin these days. Checkout what Carter did on Thursday night against the Warriors when he faked an injury in the corner to get...

Rick Carlisle Fined For Criticizing Officiating After Loss To Warriors

Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle revealed he’s being fined by the NBA for criticizing officiating following Dallas’ 100-97 loss to the Warriors Thursday. Carlisle thought center Brandan Wright was hit on the arm by Andrew Bogut on the potential go-ahead shot, and like Raptors head coach Dwanee Casey recently stated (and got fined for) - he’s concerned about what’s happening...

Vince Carter Fakes an Injury, Gets Wide Open Dunk (Video)

The wily veteran Vince Carter pulled one of the oldest tricks in the book last night.  The fake injury dunk. Carter sat in the corner of the court holding his ankle causing his defender to lag off and help his teammates.  Carter then cut to the basket for a wide open dunk.  Only a move that a vet could have pulled off.  The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Golden State Warriors 100...

Vince Carter fakes injury, dunks on Warriors

Over his 17-year career, Dallas Mavericks guard Vince Carter has given NBA fans some of the most memorable dunks in league history. Vince Carter Fakes An Injury, Gets An Easy Dunk

After 14 years in the NBA, Vince Carter probably has his fair share of tricks up his sleeves. He pulled out one of his best last night, in a 3 point loss to the Golden State Warriors. In an attempt to get his defender to play off of him a little, Carter faked an injury in the corner to appear to be out of the play. Once his defender began to help off of a seemingly injured Carter...

Mavericks 109, Suns 99

O.J. Mayo scored 20 points to lead six Dallas players in double figures and the Mavericks, despite the absence of Dirk Nowitzki, added to their mastery of Phoenix with a 109-99 victory over the Suns on Friday night. Darren Collison added 19 points and Vince Carter 17 for the Mavericks, minus Nowitzki for the second game in as many nights because of a sore right hip. Shannon Brown...

Vince Carter trolled the Warriors, then dunked on them

The Dallas Mavericks get a good come from behind win over the Phoenix Suns

Wow, what a difference a day can make. Dallas is on the 3rd of a 4 game road trip and so far had not done so well after losing 2 close ones to both Portland and Golden State. Just for the record, both of those games Dallas should have won. After seeing a lot of the media writing after the Portland game, it’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who felt that the play at the...

Sitting on the Buy of the Bayless, Watching The Tide Roll Away

Shawn Marion scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds last night, and I was going to make him a Buy except that he is already at 64% ownership. If he’s available in your league, you should buy anyway. His month of January had him with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal. He’s a very solid option in 12 team leagues or deeper, or if your league has an insane in the membrane...
