The New York Knicks took a shot to their confidence last night when the Chicago Bulls came to town.  The Bulls entered Madison Square Garden as the clear underdog.  They were missing their star player and going up against the best team in the Eastern Confernce.  However, Chicago was able to use their defense to frustrate the Knicks and come away with a win.  The Bulls frustrated the Knicks to the point of causing silly fouls, technicals, and ejections.  Among those ejected in last night's game was Carmelo Anthony.  Arthur Staple of Newsday points out that the Knicks are 0-4 against the Bulls since coach Tom Thibodeau took over the team.  Coach Thibodeau's stifling defense led to the mistakes that eventually sunk the Knicks last night.  While Anthony, Chandler, and coach Mike Woodson were all ejected last night, non suspensions are expected.  Anthony and Woodson's ejections were a result of picking up their second technical fouls.  Chandler's ejection came after getting into a small altercation with Joakim Noah.  Both he and Noah were tossed before the issue could escalate.  Anthony and the Knicks have been riding high.  Although Anthony missed a couple games with a sprained ankle, he has returned to his old self.  He scored 29 points last night despite the ejection.  The 29 point, though, snapped his four-game streak of 30+ points per game.  New York fell to 19-7 on the season.  They will face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday.  Follow @hoopsinjurynews !function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? Carmelo Anthony and Company Rally Knicks Over Timberwolves

Last season, the Knicks struggled with their consistency (or lack there of) virtually all season long. Though they teased fans with fun and exciting victories over some of the league's various powerhouses, New York simply couldn't prove steady enough to put away the weaker ones on a nightly basis. But that was the Knicks of old. The Knicks of old not only lacked a killer instinct...

Bulls leave Knicks frustrated, ejected at Garden

NEW YORK -- Carmelo Anthony already had been ejected with his second technical foul about midway through the fourth quarter when the Knicks star forward prepared to walk toward a hallway outside the team's locker room. That's when he saw his coach, Mike Woodson, making his own exit from the court. The pair would soon be joined by center Tyson Chandler, who was ejected along...

Amar'e Stoudemire will join Knicks for road trip

New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire, who hasn't played all season as he returns from a surgically repaired left knee, will not play Sunday, but will join the team for next week's road trip.   "We did talk this morning in great detail, but nothing has been defined yet in terms of when he's going to return," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said after...

Four ejected as Bulls top Knicks

New York's Carmelo Anthony and three others were thrown out of a foul-filled game, and the Chicago Bulls beat the Knicks for the second time this season, 110-106 on Friday night.

Bulls-Knicks Preview

The New York Knicks seemed to miss Carmelo Anthony against the Chicago Bulls earlier this month. They'll have him on the court Friday night when they attempt to improve the best home record in the NBA against Joakim Noah and the stingy Bulls. A lacerated finger on his left hand forced Anthony to miss New York's 93-85 loss at Chicago on Dec. 8. Without the superstar forward...

Knicks Look to Stop Bulls at MSG

Bulls vs Knicks: MSG 730pm   The Bulls come into the Garden for the first time this season.  Another long time rivalry renewed.  In their first meeting of the year, the Knicks were on the road, without Carmelo Anthony and they could just not buy a shot.  The Knicks were held to 32% shooting from the field.  Most of it had to do with Chicago’s top flight defense.  The Bulls...

Wolves downed by rallying Knicks

NEW YORK (AP) -- Blame the Christmas carols. In a "Bah humbug!" moment, Carmelo Anthony jokingly suggested the halftime music messed up the mood, offering that among a couple of reasons for the Knicks' slow start Sunday. He made sure no excuses were needed at the end. Anthony scored 19 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter, rallying New York to a 94-91 victory over...

Knicks 94, Timberwolves 91

NEW YORK -- After a lackluster start, Carmelo Anthony turned it on in the final minutes and so did the New York Knicks, who squeezed out a 94-91 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Anthony, cold from the floor for most of the game and down to his last foul with 3:04 left in the game, finished with 33 points, scoring the Knicks' last 12...

Are The Knicks A Soft Team?

The Knicks were thoroughly beaten despite the final score by the Chicago Bulls a few nights ago for the second time this season. Of the Knicks seven losses this season, you can argue that four have come at the hands of teams that play a very physical style of play. The first sign that a physical team could be the Knicks’ kryptonite was the 105-95 loss at Memphis, when Carmelo...
