This is a similar injury to what Dwight Howard played with for a good portion of the year. It isn’t bad enough to sideline you, but it is bothersome. Carmelo Anthony played 12 playoff games with a partially torn left shoulder, the Daily News has learned. An MRI of Anthony’s shoulder revealed a partially torn labrum, according to a Knicks source and there is a possibility that Anthony may need surgery. The Knicks are hopeful that the injury will heal on its own and the club has told Anthony to rest for the next three to four weeks at which point he will be re-evaluated. If Anthony needs surgery he could be out for 3-5 months, but it doesn’t look like it is that serious, so expect Melo to be ready by training camp.

Carmelo Anthony: Not a Superstar, Just a Star

About three years ago, I heard Charles Barkley on the NBA on TNT post game show make a statement about Joe Johnson, now of the Brooklyn Nets, when Joe was a member of the Atlanta Hawks. “If Joe Johnson is the best player on your team, you’re not going far.” – Charles Barkley Funny thing about that quote is Charles was right on the money. Fast forward to today and you could...

The Knicks are Hurtin (Plus Dancers!)

The Knicks have problems. More than the ones we already knew. Carmelo Anthony suffered a small left shoulder tear late in the regular season (which makes his playoffs slightly gutty, doesn’t it?), and JR Smith spent the postseason with fluid in his left knee. Both, you would think, impacted their play. This story is pretty depressing, so that pic above will hopefully make things...

Knicks Basketball: The Reality of the Roster

From this day forward and beyond the Knicks have some major roster issues that will hold them back from competing for an NBA Championship. Here is the harsh reality of this years roster. Carmelo Anthony: Complete stud offensively, better on the D this year. Needs to share the ball more, but CAN’T DO THIS ALONE. He is the only option offensively on this team. A Superstar. Amar...

J.R. Smith played against Pacers with swollen left knee: Report

Carmelo Anthony wasn't the only New York Knicks star playing through an injury during the playoffs. For those wondering why J.R. Smith continued to shoot jumpers during his postseason slump as opposed to driving to the hoop, the answer might be related to his left knee more than his late nights. Marc Berman of the New York Post: Not only did Carmelo Anthony play with what...

The latest installment in the Dwightmare 2 comes courtesy of the NY Daily News. Apparently, Dwight is now considering a surprise 5th team. Report: Dwight Howard & Chris Paul Considering Superfriend Option With Hawks

Take these reports with a grain of salt. No one knows for sure what Chris Paul or Dwight Howard are going to do. I am going to assume CP3 has a better grasp of what he is going to do than Howard. I think the likelihood of them teaming up is remote, but you are going to hear about it from time to time. This particular time comes from NBA Writer Mark Heisler. Here are his thoughts...

Kupchak Denies Discussing D'Antoni With Howard

Mitch Kupchak denied a report that indicated his exit interview conversation with Dwight Howard included the impending free agent venting about Mike D'Antoni. Howard met with Kupchak privately after also meeting with both he and D'Antoni.  "To be honest with you, I wouldn’t let it go there anyway," said Kupchak about letting a player dictate the Lakers' coaching...

Orlando Magic should blow up their roster this off-season

The Sports Bank‘s series of NBA off-season team needs pages begins with the worst team in the league this past season; the Orlando Magic.  The franchise suffered a major setback after dealing disgruntled superstar Dwight Howard last off-season.  They enter the off-season stuck with a roster of average talent and rather than trying to scrape by, it is time for the Orlando Magic...
