Pass The Pill:
The story of this NBA season will always boil down to what the New York Knicks did, in terms of whether or not they were able to keep superstar forward, Carmelo Anthony, in the Big Apple.
No matter who wins the league MVP, or the NBA Finals, we’ll all remember whether or not the Knicks were able to keep Melo as their cornerstone. Between the chatter, the losing, and the potential of greener pastures, Carmelo’s intentions have been the target of much speculation throughout the 2013-14 NBA season.
Carmelo talked about losing, and the potential of missing out on playoffs for the first time in his professional career.
“I can’t imagine what that’s like,” he said. “I’m not even trying to think about that at this point. We still got a lot of basketball to play.”
But Anthony admits his optimism is “definitely being tested” this season, and you wonder if his desire to stay with the Knicks is too.
It seems as if we’ve see this movie before. Remember that Dwight Howard was on and off the fence about as much as one could possibly be, prior to fleeing Orlando. Players say the right things in order to keep their image in tact, but when frustration sets in, it’s almost as if they toss around passive-aggressive threats.
“Finding a way to finish out games, finish out quarters is something we got to do and we have to do, coming down these next 20-something games that we have.”
No matter what, the Knicks’ goal should be to retain their star, and bring in some help. Easier said than done, I know. But the fact remains that their chances to win a championship are far better with a talented player leading the charge.

So, where do we go from here?
That’s the question many fans of the Los Angeles Lakers are asking right now.
The team is currently sat at 19-36 and hasn’t seen Kobe Bryant wear their purple and gold jersey since December. Before the trade deadline, Lakers management couldn’t find a worthwhile deal for Pau Gasol, and so he’ll hang around for the remaining 27 games and will...
The New York Knicks have had a frustrating season for the players, staff, and the fans. Questions surrounding whether Carmelo Anthony should stay in New York and if he could ever win a title have been asked all season long.
The popular mobile game Flappy Bird was used to demonstrate how difficult it will be for Carmelo to win a title in the hilarious tweet below:

Carmelo Anthony isn’t sure whether the Knicks standing pat at the trade deadline while their competitors improved was the right or wrong thing to do. But he knows not to dwell on it.
“We didn’t make any moves,’’ Anthony said after the latest disastrous loss, a 129-121 double-overtime defeat to the Magic on Friday night. “Should we have or not? That’s not for me to...
The New York Knicks’ horrible season has officially gotten the worst of Carmelo Anthony. After scoring 44 points tonight including a game-tying three late in the game, Melo and the Knicks were victim to a Dirk Nowitzki game-winning buzzer beater. Anthony, who had 9 rebounds and 4 assists along with the 44 points spoke to […]

Leon Rose, agent for Carmelo Anthony, met with Steve Mills and Allan Houston before the New York Knicks' 110-108 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.
Anthony had a strong game, scoring 44 points in the loss.
The Knicks have a $90 million payroll, but are struggling to even reach the playoffs in a weakened Eastern Conference.
Anthony will be a free agent this offseason, but...

Grass is green, the sky is blue and the Knicks suffered yet another disappointing loss. Tonight the Knicks suffered the tough loss at the hands of the Mavericks by the score of 110-108 by the way of Dirk Nowitzki buzzer beater. The Knicks fought back and came up short like they have so many times this season, wasting...
New York Knicks guard Raymond Felton was arrested Tuesday and faces three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to a New York Police Department spokesman. Felton was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, which are felonies, and fourth-degree possession of a firearm, which is a misdemeanor. Felton is expected to appear in criminal...
This Knicks season has been a horror show for many reasons, but it’s been particularly hard to stomach because of the amount of losses that have occurred like last night’s. Whether the Knicks blow a lead or, like last night against Dallas, make a frantic comeback, they’ve so often fallen on the wrong side of these late, close games. Some thoughts on the latest one:
Tremendous scoring led by Dirk Nowitzki has the Dallas Mavericks surging into playoff position.
Carmelo Anthony's dazzling offensive efforts, meanwhile, are being wasted by the fading New York Knicks.
Nowitzki looks to continue his strong stretch and lead the Mavericks on Monday night against Anthony and the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Dallas (34-23) has won nine of 12...
The Lucas and Lucas Show from February 25th, 2014 talked about Raymond Felton being arrested on gun charges, Carmelo Anthony’s frustration, the Jim Harbaugh Cleveland Browns situation, the NFL Combine, Jim Boeheim’s antics against Duke, and the USA men’s olympic hockey team. Bergen Record Knicks writer Steve Popper and Standing O Sports draft expert Jack Andrade were the guests...
We can all agree that Dwight Howard is in the Hall of Fame when it comes to athletes mishandling their impending free agency. In his last months in Orlando, Howard was a mess. He demanded that Stan Van Gundy be fired, later denied he wanted Van Gundy fired, only to have Van Gundy confirm that Howard wanted him fired. Add in that Howard even decided to waive his opt-out clause at...
Things only keep getting worse for the New York Knicks. Just when the they battled back against the Dallas Mavericks and Carmelo Anthony tied the game at 108, Dirk Nowitzki forces a shot that bounces four feet above the rim and, while the buzzer sounds, miraculously drops in for the winner. The Knicks had blown big leads in their last two games, giving away a 14-point advantage...
Too early to speculate on what exactly Melo will do once he hits free agency, but with every loss it has to make the Knicks feel a little uneasy.
Melo’s agent was roaming the tunnels of MSG last night and I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing for the Knicks.
Here are the details courtesy of CBS Sports.

The New York Knicks played themselves out of the playoff hunt last week, and with four matchups against some of the league’s best upcoming, may have trouble getting back in.
Leading into last week, all eyes were on the countdown to the NBA’s trade deadline, but Thursday came and went without any action from the Knicks. However, that was probably more attributed to...
