After suffering from a bruise in his right arm just a few days ago, Carmelo Anthony's status on whether or not he would be able to participate in the All-Star Game was uncertain. However, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News tweeted that he would indeed be able to play, which resulted in a collective sigh of relief for both Knicks fans, Carmelo fans and those rooting for the Eastern Conference. How many minutes Carmelo will play is yet to be foreseen.Carmelo's play has earned him a spot in season MVP discussions with around half of the season left in play. He's helped lead a New York Knicks team to a 32-18 record. Anthony is averaging 28.6 points on 44.7% shooting to go with 2.7 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game this year. What really has helped him and the Knicks this season is their three-point shooting. For the season, Carmelo has shot more threes than he has in any full season with 291 so far. He nearly has doubled his shot attempts from beyond the arc from last season. But it's not the volume of shots that surprises people, rather its his effectiveness from so far away. He's hitting a spectacular, and probably unsustainable, 40.9% from beyond the arc.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
