C Jonas Valanciunas; PF Ed Davis; SF Mickael Pietrus; SG DeMar DeRozen; PG Jose Calderon. Coach: Dwane Casey.
C Anderson Varejao; PF Tristan Thompson; SF Alonzo Gee; SG Dion Waiters; PG Kyrie Irving. Coach: Byron Scott.
Waiters (ankle) returned to practice Monday and will play after missing the previous eight games. Waiters is averaging 15.2 ppg. The Cavs are 4-0 when he scores at least 16. Scott didnt indicate whether Waiters or C.J. Miles will start. Miles averaged 22.5 points starting in Waiters absence the past four games. The Cavs went 1-3 in that span. The Raptors have won two straight, both coming without the injured Andrea Bargnani. This is the teams first meeting this season -- and the first between Thompson and Valanciunas. Thompson was the No. 4 overall draft pick in 2011. Valanciunas went fifth (but played overseas last year). Calderon, said to be on the trading block, has played well as the starter. The Cavs lead the all-time series, 36-29.

The Cavaliers welcomed Dion Waiters back to the lineup in this one, but it would make little difference as Cleveland once again lost to Cavalier Kryptonite, the Toronto Raptors.
This one was close through 3 quarters, but the Raptors pulled away in the 4th quarter to snap their 11 game road losing streak. The Cavaliers were lead by Kyrie Irving’s 23 points and Anderson Varejao chipped...
Amazing what a little addition by subtraction does for the Toronto Raptors. Remove Andrea Bargnani from the mix and they start winning.
Last night the Raps won a road game as they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-99. Holy crap, that is three wins in a row.
Is this a sign of things to come or is this the classic Raptors tease that fans know all too well?
Tonight they could easily...
The Raptors, sources say, are leery of taking a flier on yet another international player, despite Gasol’s obvious and longstanding talents. GM Bryan Colangelo has gone this route before, remember — signing Jorge Garbajosa, drafting Bargnani, signing Hedo Turkoglu — and even though Gasol would fit in with just about any team, including, most assuredly, the 7-19 Raptors, Toronto...
CLEVELAND -- Toronto point guard Jose Calderon continued his recent domination of the Cavaliers, scoring 23 points in the Raptors' 113-99 victory over Cleveland on Tuesday. Calderon added six assists and five rebounds as the Raptors (7-19) snapped an 11-game road losing streak. Cleveland came into the game one of the league's worst road teams, 1-14. The Raptors took the...
CLEVELAND -- Raptors coach Dwane Casey took a few moments prior to Tuesdays game in Cleveland to answer some questions about his team, as well as the Cavaliers. The Raptors (6-19) have won two straight overall -- but have lost 11 consecutive road games.
Question:How is rookie center Jonas Valanciunas doing?
Casey: Hes coming along. Hes a typical rookie -- hes had some good moments...
Landry Fields will return to the lineup tonight in what will be just his sixth game with Toronto. The Raptors guard has missed the last six weeks after undergoing ulnar nerve transposition surgery to address compression/entrapment in his right elbow. He will dress tonight when the Raptors take on the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
It has been eight long years since Vince Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets, but basketball fans in Toronto have yet to forgive or forget what happened. A return to Toronto for a season would allow him to mentor the team’s younger player and earn back the good favour of basketball fans here in Canada. Then, when he retires, Carter can have his number hanging in the ACC where it belongs.
On July 23, 2004, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Drew Gooden and Anderson Varjeao in a trade with the Orlando Magic for Tony Battie and two second round draft picks.
For the next three seasons, Gooden and Varejao were teammates in Cleveland. Not only did they share time at the power forward position specifically, they also practiced against each other on a daily basis.
Jose Calderon has been outstanding for the Raptors over their past two games, correcting course on what had been a disappointing season to date.
The Cavaliers selected Tristan Thompson with the No. 4 pick of the 2011 NBA Draft instead of Jonas Valanciunas.

Kyrie Irving claims the Cleveland Cavaliers are more assertive versus the NBA's so-called elite teams than against lesser competition.
The Boston Celtics will need to start playing considerably better in order to be known as the former.
Boston looks to avoid a fourth straight loss while Cleveland tries to end a four-game skid Wednesday night at TD Garden.

Andrea Bargnani's recent comments about the Toronto Raptors' ineptitude may have been somewhat accurate at the time, but his teammates are doing their part to change it.
While they may still be among the worst teams in the NBA, the Raptors are on the brink of their longest winning streak in more than two years, and a visit from the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night should...
