Antawn Jamison scored 21 points and Kyrie Irving orchestrated a decisive run in the final 3 minutes and the Cleveland Cavaliers snapped Oklahoma City's 14-game home winning streak by beating the Thunder 96-90 on Friday night. The Cavaliers scored their first consecutive road wins of the season by turning the normally fast-breaking Thunder into a half-court team. Oklahoma City converted only three transition baskets until trying to make a dramatic comeback in the final minute. Neither team led by more than five until the final minute, when the Cavaliers were putting the finishing touches on a 12-0 run spearheaded by Irving. Irving drove for a pair of layups to put Cleveland ahead and then found Jamison wide open under the basket for a layup to make it 90-85. Kevin Durant tried to lead Oklahoma City back, but missed on a pair of 3-point attempts. He finished with 23 points and Russell Westbrook scored 19 for the Thunder.

Skip Bayless: “For next 10 yrs better believe I’ll take Kyrie over D-Rose”

Whether you love him, hate him, or are just sick of hearing him yell, Skip Bayless gave Cavaliers’ rookie Kyrie Irving a huge compliment. Through Bayless’ twitter feed he had this to say about Irving- “For next 10 yrs better believe I’ll take Kyrie over DRose. Much better shooter, passer. Little quicker but not as strong (yet). More clutch. Kyrie: pure PG who can score....

Kyrie-markable: Irving does it again

A few quick thoughts on the Cavaliers thrilling 100-99 win at Denver on Wednesday: 1. Ill be honest, the Cavs have no business beating a good team like the Nuggets, on the road, without injured big man Anderson Varejao. At least, thats what I kept telling myself after this one. But as Cavs fans are slowly learning, with Kyrie Irving, all things are possible. 2. Its true that Irving...

Box Score: Cavaliers 100, Nuggets 99

Mr. 4th Quarter, indeed. For the first 3 quarters of this game, Antawn Jamison and Alonzo Gee carried the Cavaliers. Jamison’s monster game will probably be overlooked, but Antawn was essential in making sure the Cavaliers got off to a good start. Jamison had 33 points to lead all scorers and without his and Gee’s offense, the Cavaliers would have fallen behind early. But this...

Video: Kyrie Irving’s Game-Winner in Denver

With 15 seconds remaining, Kyrie Irving went the length of the court, blew past Aaron Afflalo — a top-flight defender — and rendered Nene and Al Harrington as bystanders as the left-handed lay-in fell through the nylon. Nineteen years of age, three NBA game-winning shots. [Related: Photos: Cavaliers Rock the 80′s Throwbacks…Kind of]

Kyrie Irving is changing the way I watch Cleveland sports

I sat on my couch last night feeling completely confident that he was going to score again after the Denver Nuggets regained a one-point lead in the final seconds. After watching Kyrie Irving just convert two three-point plays prior to that last opportunity, there was no doubt in my mind that he had one more in him. Not just one more shot, or one more basket, but one more winning...

Keeping up with the Cavs trade buzz

CLEVELAND -- A few quick notes on the latest involving the Cavaliers: By now youve probably heard the rumor about the Cavs sending forward Antawn Jamison and his expiring contract to New Orleans for center Emeka Okafor and one of the Hornets two first-round picks. It was first mentioned by Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. Okafor is a serviceable starting center when healthy...

Cavaliers 100, Nuggets 99

Kyrie Irving reminded Ty Lawson and the Nuggets what it feels like to be on the other end of a big shot. Cavs finding stride at pretty good time

CLEVELAND -- Three straight wins? The Cavaliers? The same team we all left for dead a week ago? Youd better believe it, as the Cavs gave perhaps their best showing at home of the season -- tallying a season-high in points with a 118-107 win over Houston on Sunday. Like it or not, the Cavs (16-23) are back in the playoff race, trailing New York by just one game with 27 to go. This...

Byron Bucks the “Timeout Rule” En Route to Win Over Nuggets

A rule is a rule is a rule. At least until it’s not. Or until Byron Scott chooses to ignore it, casting it aside in favor of “the hard way”, or at least the path intended by the space-time continuum. With 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers called a timeout to draw up what would presumably be the final play of the game, Scott’s team down one point...
