Despite a splendid performance from Isaiah Thomas in the most recent game, the Sacramento Kings are on the verge of matching their longest losing streak of the season. A more favorable set of games might give them a chance to end their woes. The Kings will try to avoid a fifth straight defeat and a season high-tying fourth in a row at home Monday night when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers, losers in seven of nine. Three of Sacramento's past four opponents have sported winning records with Eastern Conference leader Miami the latest of those. The Heat dealt the Kings a 128-99 defeat Saturday in the third of their five consecutive games at Sleep Train Arena. "Obviously this game got away from us in the first quarter," coach Keith Smart said. "The game was over in the first five minutes for the most part." Sacramento (13-24) might have better luck during the conclusion of that homestand as it will welcome in two of the East's worst teams, Cleveland (9-...

Cavaliers look to extend Kings' losing streak

DeMarcus Cousins Fires Back At Charles Barkley

TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley is never one to mince words, so when he was asked what his advice to Sacramento Kings forward DeMarcus Cousins would be, he kept it short and simple. “Grow up”, Barkley told ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption on Wednesday. “Just grow up. He’s got a world of talent…he’s not in college anymore. We’re men. NBA stands for No Babies Allowed...

Cousins, Kings earn high-scoring win over Cavs

SACRAMENTO -- This was no time for Sacramento Kings coach Keith Smart to be picky. He and his team needed a victory, so although there was no domination, holding on for a 124-118 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night was just fine. An announced crowd of 12,194 at Sleep Train Arena watched DeMarcus Cousins lead the Kings with 26 points, 14 rebounds, six assists...

Dirk Nowitzki goofs with Sacramento Kings security guard during video review

It’s a little late, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t show this light-hearted moment between Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki and a Sacramento Kings security guard from this past Thursday’s Kings-Mavericks game (won by the Mavs 117-112 in OT).  As Los That Sports Blog explains, Disco Dirk was trying to get a closer look at an official’s video review late in the fourth quarter, but...

Kings 124, Cavaliers 118

DeMarcus Cousins had 26 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, and the Sacramento Kings snapped a four-game losing streak with a 124-118 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. Jimmer Fredette and Cousins both scored eight points in the fourth quarter for the struggling Kings, who had allowed nearly 118 points per game during the losing streak and had three losses of 20...

Dirk Nowitzki hilariously messes with Sacramento Kings security guard (Video)

Dirk Nowitzki had a great moment with a Sacramento Kings security guard last week. The officials for the Mavericks-Kings game were doing a video review of a play with 36.1 seconds remaining in the game. Dirk was trying to work his way over towards the monitors to see how things were going with the review, only there was one problem: a bold security guard stood in his way. The old...

Evans Being Targeted By Lakers, Grizzlies

With just over a month until the NBA trade deadline, speculation is starting to increase on what players are on the trading block. One name being dangled as possible trade bait is Tyreke Evans, the young, dynamic guard for the Sacramento Kings.

Incredible Image: Photographer Gets Nearly Identical Shots of LeBron Dunking in Sacramento in 2003 and 2013

Photographer Rocky Widner, who snaps pictures for NBA Entertainment, took the picture on the left during LeBron James’s NBA debut against the Sacramento Kings on October 29, 2003. James had 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Cleveland Cavaliers in a losing effort. Widner also took the picture on the right, this time during the Miami Heat’s victory over the Kings on...

Heat demolish Kings in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Mario Chalmers had career highs with 10 3-pointers and 34 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 128-99 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. LeBron James had 20 points, seven assists, five steals and a pair blocks for the Heat, who had a season-high point total. Miami got a needed bounce-back win after losing two straight and five of eight...

Heat halt slide with rout of Kings

SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Kings, even at home, were at the wrong place at the wrong time. They saw the defending world champion Miami Heat play close to as well as it can on the way to stomping the Kings, 128-99, Saturday night before an announced crowd of 14,367 at Sleep Train Arena. The Heat (24-11) entered the game having lost two in a row and quickly showed it did not...

Dirk gets shut down by old-man security guard

It's pretty funny to see this guy's attempt at being a hard-ass without cracking a smile while Dirk dicks around with him. Being a Kings security guard can't be an easy task -- I'm sure they're always on high alert because DeMarcus Cousins could snap at any time and choke anyone in the building. It was pretty funny that both announcers noted the security guard...

Cavaliers (9-30) at Kings (13-24) - Game 40

OPENING TIP As far as this season goes, the Cavaliers are a mystery from night to night and not a team you can pick to win. When they put four quarters together, theyre actually pretty enjoyable and have a chance against anyone. But that happens about twice a month. Otherwise, they need to rely on their opponent not playing well. Tonight, theyre playing a similar team in the Kings...
