Found December 25, 2012 on NESN.com:
Nothing is ever promised, but for all the Brooklyn Nets’ improvements in the last year and a half, they figured to remain a reliable victim for the Celtics entering this season. Even after two meetings and two Celtics’ losses, all the ingredients were there to make the Nets a match made in heaven for Boston. They were a slow-paced team that defended poorly and was prone to bad habits on offense. They did not have a remarkably dangerous bench or an imposing interior defender. They had all the weaknesses the Celtics could exploit and few of the strengths that trouble the guys in green. Until Tuesday, however, the Celtics had not capitalized on this outwardly favorable matchup. It finally came together in front of a national television audience, opening a four-game holiday road trip on a promising note for Celtics fans who feared the end of days after a discouraging loss on Dec. 21. This will provide a measure of hope for the Celtics as they head out west, but anyone expecting a simila...

Gerald Wallace calls out teammates

With the Brooklyn Nets struggling as of late, Gerald Wallace has taken issue with how his teammates are responding to the slide and made his feelings known.

Jared Sullinger a starter soon? It would make sense

Over at MassLive.com, where Celtics Town authoritarian dictator (just kidding) Jay King gets paid to write about sports, Jay posted an interesting article on how Boston’s full-team plus/minus improves immensely when Jared Sullinger plays with the starters in place of Brandon Bass and/or Jason Collins. From Masslive.com:“Consider this: During the 197 minutes when Sullinger has...

Kevin Garnett: “He just jacked my shorts”

In the Celtics early start on Christmas Day, CSN viewers were surrounded with holiday spirit, including anecdotal stories of KG buying Scal a Louis Vuitton suitcase, and Keyon Dooling dishing out holiday cheer like it he was playing point guard again.  Then things became reminiscent of the last meeting between Brooklyn and Boston when Gerald Wallace and Kevin Garnett got a little...

Can Celtics surge like last season?

After spending four years crafting a reputation as one of the NBA's best teams in November and December, the Boston Celtics have found the last two seasons to be rather unkind when it comes to getting out of the blocks quickly, with early hardship coming to define them in their old age. It started last year when, without a training camp to rely on, coach Doc Rivers' past...

Gerald Wallace & Kevin Garnett Receive Double Technicals After Short Tug

Kevin Garnett and Gerald Wallace both received a technical in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s Christmas Day game after a minor scuffle. Wallace grabbed onto Garnett’s shorts following a shot attempt, something Garnett didn’t respond well to:

Paul Pierce’s Game Ball Gesture to Jason Collins Doubly Appreciated, As Awarding Game Balls Is Rarity in NBA

BOSTON — Paul Pierce gave Jason Collins his game ball, everybody clapped and that was pretty much that. A few days later, Pierce’s token of recognition for the veteran center’s hard work was all but forgotten for many members of the Celtics, who were much more impressed with the 40-point performance that earned Pierce the game ball in the first place. But for Collins, the gesture...

Doc Rivers Compliments Jared Sullinger, Calls Him ‘Big Fat Guy Playing Basketball’

Hopefully the Celtics aren’t sensitive about their weight. Because Doc Rivers certainly doesn’t care. The Celtics’ coach complimented rookie forward Jared Sullinger, and then called him fat. This backhanded compliment came after Sullinger had a career-day on Christmas, going six-for-seven shooting with 16 points and seven rebounds. “Jared was wonderful. He’s such a smart...

Comments from the Other Side - Nets 12/25

Well, this game made my Christmas a bit merrier.  It would have been a lot better if the Lakers and Heat had lost but I'll take a Celtics win any day, especially over these very unlikeable Nets and their fans.  The fact that some of them were complaining about the officiating is laughable, given that they shot 29 free throws to 13 for the Celtics.  Nets fans seem to hate their...

Nets 95, 76ers 92

NEW YORK - Joe Johnson scored 10 of his team-high 22 points in the third quarter and Keith Bogans scored 13 in a rare start, as the Brooklyn Nets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 95-92 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday afternoon at the Barclays Center.
