Boston Celtics (2-2) vs Los Angeles Clippers (1-3)
Sunday, July 22
6:00 PM ET
The Celtics close out their two weeks of Summer League action with a game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Both teams played last night but Boston played in the late game while LA played at 8:30. Also, this is the Celtics 10th game in 14 days while the Clippers have just played 5 games over 6 days. Fatigue could have an impact on the game.
The Celtics roster was down to 9 players but somehow they added a couple more after the trade in Othello Hunter, previously of the Bobcats, and Garret Stutz, previously of the Timberwolves. The Clippers have 14 players at their disposal.
Players to watch for the Clippers include 6'11" F/C Hilton Armstrong, who has 5 years of pro experience and will match up with Jared Sullinger at PF. Armstrong is averaging 7.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. Another player to watch is 2 time...

Lost in all the hoopla surrounding the Celtics acquisition of Courtney Lee on Thursday was the Clippers signing KG's buddy Ryan Hollins. Hollins of course came to the Celtics after being waived by the Cavs last season. And while he showed a lot of heart for the C's, he also showed why he will now be playing on his 6th team as he enters his 7th season. That's very rare...
The Heat sure do know how to rub it in. The reigning NBA champions will raise their banner and receive their rings in a pregame ceremony Oct. 30, shortly before opening the season with a game against the Celtics, according to a report in the Sun-Sentinel. The Celtics pushed the Heat to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals before Miami trounced the Oklahoma City Thunder in...

Goldiblocks may be done wearing Celtics green. Former Celtics forward Greg Stiemsma has agreed to a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports. Since Stiemsma is a restricted free agent, the Celtics could match any offer, but they're tight on cash after several other signings and likely won't be able to match what the Wolves are reportedly...

We don’t know which team presented Greg Stiemsma with an offer sheet. But the Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly ready to offer him $3 million for one season, and another mystery suitor has reportedly presented him with an offer the Celtics almost certainly won’t be able to match. (ESPN Boston)Restricted free-agent center Greg Stiemsma has received an offer from a new...
Well, it looks like the question I asked in my last post has been answered. Via ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg:
Sources: Celtics set to ink veteran big man Jason Collins to a one-year, veteran minimum deal. Adds 7-footer to bench.
Collins is 7-feet tall. I think that is obviously the most important part of this transaction. A solid back...
The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed restricted free agent Greg Stiemsma to an offer sheet.
The agreement made on Saturday gives the Boston Celtics three days to match the offer or let the big man go to Minnesota. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
Stiemsma averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 13 minutes per game for the Celtics last season. Boston...
In this nationally televised NBA post-game report from March 2nd 2003, Our very own Breakdown Show’s Dave Mendonca, interviewed various Toronto Raptors after a win against Antoine Walker and the Boston Celtics.
At one time this season, the great Tommy Heinson compared his defensive powers to Bill Russel. Whether or not this was another one of Heinson’s homer hyperboles (it was), the fact remained that Celtics center Greg Stiemsma’s was a good and intelligent low-post defender in addition to being one of the Boston Celtics’ best stories in 2011-12. He had never averaged more than 10...
It won't take long for Ray Allen to experience a reunion with the Boston Celtics.
While the complete NBA schedule will not be released until later this week, the Sun Sentinel has learned that the Miami Heat will open the 2012-13 NBA regular season on Tuesday Oct. 30 at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Celtics.
The Heat signed Allen away from the Celtics during...
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Greg Stiemsma reportedly have agreed on a one-year deal that will move the second-year center from Boston. The deal is thought to be worth between $2 million and $3 million. Stiemsma, 26, averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 55 games for the Celtics last season. He was a restricted free agent who had received a $1.05 million qualifying...
