With the Clippers in Boston this weekend, Danny Ainge likely had a chance to talk face-to-face with Clippers brass. And the Clippers likely had the chance to inquire whether the Celtics might be interested in breaking up their core and improve their team firsthand. The rumor began filtering out shortly after Sunday's game between Los Angeles and Boston that the Clippers were interested in acquiring Kevin Garnett. Sean Deveney of The Sporting News reported the Clippers believe they can win a championship this year and would be willing to bring in a veteran like Garnett to anchor the locker room further. For the Celtics it seems like they would get a young player like Eric Bledsoe or get Chauncey Billups' expiring contract in return to clear up some cap space to reload. More than anything it suggests that many around the league believe the Celtics need to clear the decks in the wake of Rajon Rondo's injury. Boston has not lost since then in four games however, ...

Kevin Garnett isn't going to Denver, he probably isn't going anywhere

Kevin Garnett a Denver Nugget?! I wouldn't bet on it. The rumor wheel began swirling again earlier today when a report came out from the Denver Post saying that the Nuggets were asking about the availability of Kevin Garnett. Mark Kizla of the post seemed to insinuate that it was almost a done deal that Garnett would be shipped out of Boston. Not so fast. That same report also...

Kevin Garnett discusses trade rumors. He says he's aware that it's a business and that Danny Ainge will do what's best for the Celtics. Worth a watch. Video courtesy of Mike Petraglia. You may also like this t-shirt:

Kevin Garnett became the 16th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points Thursday night against the Lakers on a turnaround jumper in the second quarter. Garnett is the only player in league history to have 25,000 points, 10,000 boards, 5,000 assists and 1,500 blocks & steals.

Kevin Garnett Still Has No-Trade Clause, So Be Skeptical of ‘Reports’ About Celtics’ Trading Him

As a friendly reminder, Kevin Garnett still has a no-trade clause. This is not a complicated situation, really, which makes it rare in the world of NBA transactions — or in this case, non-transactions. As several reports noted last summer, Garnett secured his no-trade clause while taking a sizable pay cut, keeping him among a small minority of respected stars who cannot be dealt...

Kevin Garnett Reaches 25,000-Point Plateau, an Amazing Achievement for Player Seldom Appreciated as Elite Scorer

BOSTON — Kevin Garnett has about as much use for individual milestones as he does for size 7 basketball sneakers. Neither really fits his game. Still, there was no denying that Garnett was visibly moved on Thursday, when his turnaround jump shot with eight minutes left in the second quarter gave him 25,000 points for his career. A few minutes later, when the achievement was announced...

Kevin Garnett Scores 25,000th Point Of His Career

Kevin Garnett became only the 16th man in NBA history to have scored 25,000 points in his NBA career during the Celtics’ romp over the Lakers on Thursday night. Garnett reached the milestone with a classic KG fadeaway with 8:08 to play in the 2nd quarter. Reports: Kevin Garnett To Clippers Not Likely

Despite Sporting News’ report Sunday that the Los Angeles Clippers were making a push for 17-year veteran Kevin Garnett, follow up reports suggest that nothing is imminent. Like we’ve said before, Garnett is one of four players (Kobe, Duncan, Nowitzki) with a no-trade clause, meaning he has to approve any trade including him, making a move to the Clippers even more unlikely....

Kevin Garnett Says He Wants to Retire as a Celtic, While Bashing the Media

I find it ironic that KG says if it is up to him he would retire a Celtics, when it is up to him. He has a no trade clause so if he wants to stay a Celtic forever that is his choice. KG himself spoke on how it is a business and he understands the possibility of being traded, so his comments that it is all the media fault for the rumors sounds silly. “On a last note, I just want...

Rumor: KG says no thanks to the Nuggets

Add the Denver Nuggets to the list of teams allegedly interested in the services of Kevin Garnett. But according to Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post – Garnett has no love for Denver: Kevin Garnett is everything the Nuggets need. Heck, his scowl alone is more intimidating in the post than all 21 feet of center on Denver’s roster. So what’s the problem with pushing the idea of...

Garnett And Pierce Quiet Trade Rumors, Lead Celtics To Fifth Straight Post-Rondo

Celtics 99, Raptors 95 Earlier this week Kevin Garnett responded to rumors that the Celtics core players may be traded with a simple, defiant phrase. He told reporters, “I bleed green” and in Boston’s fifth consecutive win at Toronto on Wednesday night, he proved it. Garnett posted a vintage line with 27 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes, while shooting an efficient 11-18...

Doc, Pierce, and KG discuss 'silly' trade rumors

Awesome round of quotes today from Celtics coach Doc Rivers, captain Paul Pierce, and center Kevin Garnett on the ongoing trade rumors that seem to pop up by the day. The most recent round of rumors have Kevin Garnett heading to Los Angeles for Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe and forward Caron Butler. What do the Celtics think of these rumors? Let's start with Doc. All from (the...

Celtics-Raptors Live: Rudy Gay Welcomes Kevin Garnett, Celts to His New Home North of Border

8 a.m. ET: The Raptors got a whole lot more interesting last week when the perennial Atlantic Division also-rans picked up Rudy Gay in a three-team trade with the Grizzlies and Pistons. They still sit comfortably outside the playoff picture — at 17-31, they are 7 1/2 games behind the Celtics in the race for the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference — but they did begin Gay’s...

Doctor: Back surgery should help Sullinger long term

When Jared Sullinger underwent back surgery last week, the hope was that the procedure would help alleviate any future back issues. According to Dr. Sean Rockett of Orthopedics New England, who spoke with CSNNE, that could definitely be the case. From the interview (link). "If it's a straightforward disc, which is what it sounds like from the reports, then yeah, it could...
