8 a.m. ET: ‘Tis the season for giving, and the NBA schedule-makers gave the Celtics a challenging slate for the holidays. Two days after taking on the NBA’s most well-coached unit in the Spurs, the Celtics host arguably the league’s most talented roster when the Oklahoma City Thunder pay a post-Thanksgiving visit. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook will lead the Thunder (9-3), fresh off a statement victory over the rolling Clippers, into the raucous building above North Station. Rajon Rondo’s streak of double-digit assists is still active, but nobody seemed very interested in talking about statistical streaks after the Celtics (6-6) suffered their second straight loss. Also, old friend Kendrick Perkins probably should not expect another warm welcome like he received last season in his visit. Now he is the enemy. Join us for updates and analysis from the TD Garden during the game, which tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Durant propels Thunder to OT win over Clippers

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Thunder knew it could play better. Despite cruising to one of the best records in the Western Conference, the Thunder looked almost disinterested since making their run to the NBA Finals last year. That changed Wednesday when the Los Angeles Clippers pulled into town for a pre-Thanksgiving battle. In front of a national TV audience, Oklahoma...

Jeff Green Breaks Out Against Former Team, Combines With Paul Pierce to Make Tough Night for Kevin Durant

BOSTON — Jeff Green found the concept baffling. His good friend and former teammate, Kevin Durant, dropped 29 points against him, yet it was suggested that he and Paul Pierce had teamed up to make the Oklahoma City Thunder forward’s night miserable. “He still got 37 points,” Green said, before he was quickly told Durant’s actual scoring total. “Close to 30, whatever....

Why Didn't the Boston Celtics Try and Sign Tim Duncan

teammates? Ok, I know, there was no chance of the Boston Celtics signing Tim Duncan last offseason. He is a Spur for life and will probably go down as the best power forward to ever play this game (Kevin Garnett has a thing or two to say about that). Tim Duncan and Greg Popovich are the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick of the NBA, constant winners and always in contention. But all that...
