The Boston Celtics fell to the Chicago Bulls 100-99 ESPN Boxscore CelticsLife Game Recap Player Grades: Kevin Garnett: 16 Points, 7 Rebounds Garnet had a very tough game tonight. He struggled offensively for most of the night, while he was beaten up by both of Chicago's big men. He came back in the 4th quarter and made some big plays, but it is tough to say anything positive other than that about his play. Having a big body that does not completely suck would have been very useful here. C+ Brandon Bass: 10 Points, 2 Rebounds Bass had an up and down game today. He did a decent job offensively, but he really struggled on defense and on the boards. He looked completely clueless on help defense tonight. And his buttery hands let Chicago grab a few more "50-50" balls than they should have. Disappointing effort. C   Paul Pierce: 13 Points, 6 Rebounds Terrible game. There is no other way to describe it. He was flat on most of his jumpers, and his shot selection was spott...

Noah's funny response to KG trash talk

Joakim Noah and Kevin Garnett have a history against each other, and Noah had a funny response when asked about KG's trash talk.

Kevin Garnett Calls Anthony Davis ‘Freak of Nature,’ Says Hornets Rookie Makes Him Feel ‘Like a Midget’

BOSTON — On the surface, Anthony Davis seems to have a lot in common with a young Kevin Garnett. The lithe rookie for the New Orleans Hornets is just as freakishly athletic at 6-foot-10 as Garnett was as a 19-year-old for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995. Just like a young Garnett, Davis’ potential is clear despite a mostly up-and-down rookie campaign. Playing against Davis...

Joakim Noah whines about Kevin Garnett, again

After the game last night Joakim Noah (son of French professional tennis player Yannick Noah) was asked about playing defense against Kevin Garnett. Here's what Noah had to say: (I was) just playing defense. Just playing sound defense, just contesting his shots. He's a helluva competitor. He's always on some bulls---. Always on some bulls---. Just trying to throw elbows...

Charles Barkley, Shaq Don’t Think Kevin Garnett Deserves To Be All-Star Starter

Speaking on TNT NBA Tip-off, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal said Garnett, who received 553,222 votes, the least among the 10 starters, didn’t deserve the honor this year. “I love Kevin Garnett, but he’s not having an All-Star year,” Barkley said. “It’s not fair to Tyson Chandler. He should be starting in the All-Star Game.” “Tyson Chandler should be starting...

Joakim Noah Talks Up Kevin Garnett’s ‘Cheap Shots’ After Beating Celtics

On Friday night, after the Bulls beat the Celtics 100-99 in overtime, Joakim Noah said he didn’t want to talk too much, and especially not about Kevin Garnett, with whom Noah tangled again on Friday night and about whom Noah has had some pointed words in the past. So on Friday, Noah did not go as far as to say that Garnett was a dirty player, as he has alleged before. Instead,...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Bulls 1/18

The Celtics have lost. This one really sucked. We had a lead with a few seconds left in both the fourth and in OT, yet we couldn't catch a break. Rondo played amazing: putting in 30 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 assists. Unfortunately, he fouled out mid-way through overtime. This one stings and I just want to move on, but I won't. Tonight's underrated stat of the night...

Your Morning Dump… Where the Celtics are back to playing mediocre basketball

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Pierce? He was a different story. You want someone to wear the goat horns in this one? He’s your guy. He was horrible all night from the floor (5-for-17), he was victimized like a callow rookie on arguably the...

Celtics-Pistons Live: Paul Pierce Aims to Shoot C’s Out of Slump in Detroit

8 a.m. ET: Two straight losses have given the Celtics reason to worry, so it may help to get away for a while. A two-game road trip against teams mired near the bottom of the standings therefore could be the perfect antidote. Of course, an opponent that was overmatched on paper managed to halt the Celtics’ six-game winning streak, so the Pistons (14-25) should not be taken lightly...
