Rajon Rondo Suspended One Game For Bumping Ref (Again)

Rajon Rondo has been suspended for one game for bumping an official during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, the NBA announced on Monday. After being called for an offensive foul on a fast break, Rondo approached and made shoulder-to-shoulder contact with a referee. From the league’s PR office: “Boston’s Rondo suspended 1 game for making contact with an official and...

Boston 102, New York 96 - No Rondo, No Problem: Celtics Win at MSG

In the middle of a battle with the Atlantic Division-leading New York Knicks, no Rajon Rondo was the last thing on the Boston Celtics' minds. The Celtics manned up in the absence of their star point guard and took things to the New York Knicks Monday night, winning their third-straight 102-96. Boston held Carmelo Anthony to his worst game of the season, as the Knicks' star...

The announcement came from league discipline chief Stu Jackson. With 3:19 remaining in the third quarter of the Celtics' 89-81 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, Rondo was called for an offensive foul on...

Paul Pierce scored 17 of his 26 points in the third quarter as the Celtics erased a 19-point deficit and went on to consecutive wins for the first time since late November against Oklahoma City and Orlando. Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley Lead Rousing Win Over Pacers That Leaves Celtics Still Grasping for Consistency

BOSTON — The Celtics started Friday’s game like every other since their post-Christmas hangover began. They missed makeable shots, fired up 3-pointers early in the shot clock and looked all-around lost on offense. A funny thing happened when they looked up at the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter, though. Despite shooting 29 percent from the field and committing as many...

Some Celtics Players Laugh And Joke After Losses Causing Concern

One thing that is apparent after the last three games: The Celtics don’t yet trust each other. That’s not to say that Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo don’t trust each other; they do. They don’t trust some of the newcomers, and Garnett made that clear after Sunday’s 118-96 loss in Sacramento. The Celtics are not on the same page. Some players continue to laugh...

RedsArmy presents: Fan Friday #36: “CelticNation Colombia”

Donald, 17, is this week’s featured fan. He lives in Colombia and has been a Celtics fan for most of his young life. Some of you may know him from his Twitter account, @boceltics18. As is the case with most Celtics fans who are not in North America, Donald must depend on the internet to get his daily dose of Celtics. That has not deterred him however from following the team he...

Celtics Enter the Garden

Celtics vs Knicks: MSG 7:30pm  UPDATE( RONDO OUT) The longtime rivalry with the Boston Celtics will be renewed again tonight at MSG.  The Knicks have not won a season series from Boston since 2003-2004, and the Celtics have been Atlantic Division champions every season since the 2007-2008 campaign.  Today, the Knicks sit atop the Atlantic with a 5 game lead over the second place...

Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry Fined $15,000 For Being A Tattle Tale

Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry picked up one of the sillier fines this NBA season today, for essentially snitching on Rajon Rondo. The Celtics point guard bumped referee Rodney Mott during Saturday night’s 89-81 win over the Hawks — a game the Hawks led by 19 at one point, by the way — and after the game, Ferry decided to pass along video of Rondo’s faux pas. One problem: he...

Slumping Celtics Need Rejuvenation to Regain Contender Status, Whether Help Comes From Trade or Within

Although rumors that they might land Sacramento Kings superstar DeMarcus Cousins were short-lived, there’s no denying that the Boston Celtics could stand to benefit from a significant momentum shift in 2013. Despite a roster still very much intact from last season, the C’s have struggled to look like a solid playoff team on a consistent basis. With age creeping up on the Boston...

Third-quarter run sparks Celtics past Hawks

ATLANTA -- Down 53-38 to the Atlanta Hawks at halftime, the Boston Celtics were snapping at each other and at coach Doc Rivers. Paul Pierce had had enough. "Don't get mad at Doc. He's coaching," Pierces said. "We've got to get mad at this other team. "I just said we wanted to bring the fight to them. We were kind of bickering at each other a little...

Taking Stock: Celtics – Pacers

After every game, we’ll take stock of how each individual performance affects the player’s overall value. Starters Offense:     Defense:      Overall:  Rondo off the ball is a menace.  If this was football, we say he’s a great free safety but a bad cornerback.  With Bradley in the game, Rondo can roam into passing lanes and sneak up on players on the post...

Move Over Boston, Here Comes the New York Knicks

All Things Come To An End I remember in 1st grade I was bullied by this kid named Orlando. For an entire year Orlando terrorized me by taking my lunch money, pushing me around, even chased me home on the last day of school, but getting pushed around got tired really fast and when 2nd grade began I stood up for myself and let Orlando have it. The big bad bully was no more and that’s...

Green Envy: What Pacers fans said

It feels good to do a Green Envy post, it has been a while. What feels better is the defensive will the Celtics showed tonight, and scoring 94 points against a defensive team was no less important. Well, of course you would expect Pacers fans to be angry. They were not the most sulky fans, their feet are on earth., and they mostly complained about their own players. There was a lot...
