Numerous sites and sources are currently reporting that Darko Milicic has turned down a contract with Real Madrid Baloncesto in favor of returning to the NBA. Sources are also saying that the Boston Celtics are the favorites to land him.
Milicic's contract was worth a reported six-million dollars over three years with the Spanish team. Real Madrid is already the home of former NBA players Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Rodriguez.
The former No. 2 overall pick was amnestied by the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer, and was having a hard time finding a team willing to take him on. His turning down of the popular Spanish team means a NBA return is probable.
The report is originating from a European website, with a loosely translated headline of: Milicic Working on Deal with Boston. However, if any of you are so inclined to help out with the translation, please do!
There are a few other sites reporting this deal, such as Sportando and Pro Basketball Talk state-side.

The Celtics are reportedly on the verge of adding a key member of the NBA's 2003 draft class. Unfortunately for C's fans, it's not LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh or Dwyane Wade. It is, however, the loaded draft class' second overall pick. That's right. Darko Milicic will be joining the Celtics, according to CSNNE.com's A. Sherrod Blakely. #CelticsTalk...
Thumbs up, indeed!
Remember the 2003 draft class? The top five was one of the best in the history of basketball. The sole reason why it might not be is the man holding his thumb up in the air like he just dug out a huge booger and wants to show everybody.
That being said, I actually think this is a solid pick-up. Darko may not be able to “score” or “push people around,”...

It was a busy day for the Celtics. First they signed Darko Milicic and then they reported that Keyon Dooling has decided to retire. The Darko signing came up quickly, but it wasn't really a surprise because there were rumors that Danny had called him when the Wolves first waived him. The Dooling retirement came out of nowhere though.
My first thought was whether...
