Channing Frye is in the midst of a three-game hot streak. In Phoenix's 96-89 loss to the Houston Rockets, Frye hit 8-of-17 shots on the way to 21 points, 10 rebounds, four three-pointers, an assist, two steals and two blocks. It's a reward to his oh-so-patient owners who held on through his slump.

Frye came into tonight after two solid games (19 points and nine rebounds with two blocks and three three-pointers against the Hawks and 14 and five rebounds with two blocks and two threes). Let's hope this is the end of Frye's horrendous start to the season (he's hitting a putrid 36.9 percent of his shots).

As a long-time Frye owner, I'm well aware he could go cold at any time. But with five games next week, I'll be playing him.

POTD 2/9/12: Channing Frye…Wait…What?

Well here’s something you don’t see every day: Channing Frye driving to the rack and dunking on a dude.  The dude happened to be Samuel Dalembert, who didn’t respect authority… the authority of Channing Frye’s seldom-seen but ever-destructive right-handed sledgehammer, that is. Frye is one of those guys that if you type his name into Youtube along with the word “dunk”...

Nash trade partners hard to come by

We seem to have reached the point of greatest return in trade-projection exercises co-starring the Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash. For the record, I expect the Suns to embrace the recent Nash-provoked victory salvo -- now hiking their record to a robust 11-14 -- and swing for the fringes of the NBA's Western Conference playoff roster. And it's highly possible that these player...

Chandler and Brooks might be stuck

During the lockout, when some of the NBA players went to make some money overseas, most of them were able to get clauses in their contracts that allowed them to return to their teams when the lockout was over. That wasn’t the case for the ones that played in China. Players such as Aaron Brooks, Wilson Chandler and J.R. Smith aren’t allowed to leave their Chinese teams until...

Suns struggling in second quarters this season

The Suns are a fantastic team with a halftime lead, winning nine of 10 times this season. The problem with getting that halftime lead has been keeping first-quarter leads.
