DJ Augustin is a good point guard. He is solid. He can shoot, pass, and is an OK defender. Augustin was the 9th overall pick in the NBA Draft a few years ago and has yet to reach his peak. Anyone who follows the Los Angeles Lakers knows they need a quick point guard immediately. Derek Fisher is the starting point guard for the Lakers and is long in the tooth and has a very hard time defending younger and quicker point guards. DJ Augustin is not known for his defense, but he is younger and quicker and a better defender. The Bobcats should ask for a first round pick, but the Lakers may not want to give that up in hopes of still trading for center Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic. I think the Bobcats can get a first rounder and a player like Lakers backup point guard Steve Blake. It’s a win for both teams since it’s just a matter of time the Bobcats will insert rookie Kemba Walker as the starting point guard. In Augustin, the Lakers have a quicker point guard who is younger and can push the ball up the court. I doubt the Bobcats would want Fisher in return because of his age and contract. This trade is a no-brainer, but will it get done? Time will tell.

Kobe Bryant would welcome a younger and quicker point guard like DJ Augustin who can better defend quicker point guards better than Derek Fisher.
