I guess we can start calling Chauncey Billups, “Big Shot Frosty” after he and a partner acquired multiple Wendy’s restaurants in the St. Louis Area earlier in the week. Billups teamed up with former NBA player Junior Bridgeman (who played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers from 1975-1987) to acquire thirty restaurants of the popular fast food chain. The fine folks over at St. Louis Business Daily have more details on the sale: Officials said they sold all 30 company-operated franchise locations in the St. Louis area to BB St. Louis LLC, a partnership between former NBA star Junior Bridgeman and current Detroit Pistons guard Chauncey Billups. The sale did not include seven St. Louis-area restaurants that are operated by other franchisees, a company spokesman said. The deal gives Bridgeman, already Wendy’s second-largest franchisee, total or partial ownership of 196 Wendy’s locations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but officials said the agreement requires BB St. Louis to adopt Wendy’s new design for certain restaurants and includes a development plan for new restaurants. *** Chauncey Billups buys Wendy’s restaurants [St. Louis Business Journal] Chauncey Billups image courtesy of Getty Images
