Clippers guard Chauncey Billups became the latest player to receive a warning for flopping Wednesday as the NBA came down on him for kicking out his leg on this 3-point attempt.
The Clippers trailed by 2 with 1:14 seconds left in Monday’s game at Utah, so when Chauncey Billups attempted a 3-pointer, he kicked out his leg hoping to be awarded 3 free throws, and he was. Billups, an 89% career free throw shooter, knocked down all 3 which essentially led to a 105-104 victory over the Jazz, who until then were a perfect 6-0 at home.
Though the Jazz would of likely preferred the the win than a warning dealt to Chauncey Billups, they’re going to have to take what they can get. The 15-year vet will be fined $5,000 if he violates the league’s anti-flopping policy a second time.
