Doc Rivers told CP3 “he was nothing” during their first conversation as player and coach, and now Chris Paul is hell bent on proving to Rivers just how good he really is.
I’m not sure if it was the powder blue uniform with the sleeves, or the fact that he saw a quality guard in Ty Lawson across from him, but Paul went off on the Nuggets Saturday night.
Paul was 13-of-21 shooting, for 40 points in 42 minutes.
Remember I talked Lawson being across from?
Check out the crossover he gives Lawson early on in their matchup.

You hear a lot of athletes talk about retiring, walking away from the game on their own, and just knowing when it’s over for them. Rarely do the athletes that make those proclamations follow through. Barry Sanders retired early, and didn’t give one hint to being ready. Being a good father and husband is high on Chris Paul’s priority list, and
In 1998, one of the greatest running backs in NFL history walked away from the game at 30 years old. Could 2015 bring a similarly premature retirement from one of the NBA’s best point guards?
Chris Paul hinted in an HBO special that he has pondered pulling a Barry Sanders and stepping away in his prime. Paul’s motivation would be to spend more time with his children, whereas...
Chris Paul believes he could step away from the NBA earlier than expected in order to spend more time with his children.
"I love to play basketball more than anybody," Paul said. "I'm serious, nobody loves to play basketball more than I do. But I could honestly see myself maybe stopping a little earlier, maybe premature, just because I hate to miss anything with...
Los Angeles Clippers head Coach Doc Rivers had the Los Angeles Lakers championship banners covered up and had his players’ banners draped over them instead at Staples Center on Friday. Rivers is reported to say that the Clippers will do this with every home game they have in the season.
The Lakers have 12 championship banners. Minneapolis has its five titles on one banner...
Since leaving the Celtics for LA, Doc Rivers has said a lot of things that haven't sat well with Boston fans (examples A, B, and C for starters). But now it appears he's finally doing something we'll enjoy: Per order of coach Rivers, during his team's home games at the Staples Center this season the Lakers championship banners (and retired numbers) that hang from...
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers had the Lakers' championship banners covered and had his players' banners draped over them instead at Staples Center.
Rivers said it will be done whenever it's the Clippers' home game in the arena they share with the Lakers.
The Lakers have 12 championship banners Minneapolis has its five titles on one banner and 10 retired jerseys, including...
So Doc Rivers recently said he wants to cover up the Lakers' championship banners and retired jersey numbers whenever his Clippers play hosts at L.A.'s shared arena, the Staples Center. This, as Doc explained, is being done as a means for "putting our guys up" and instilling a sense of belonging and ownership in a home court which has long been associated with...
It’s a rare thing to see when an athlete walks away from the game early or while still at the peak of their primes. Barry Sanders certainly did it. With little to no warning either, just called it quits on what I personally believe was headed to being the greatest running back career of all-time. […]
With Doc Rivers at the helm the Los Angeles Clippers are finally getting their own identity. Most would believe that the Lakers own the Staples Center and the Clippers are just the guy sleeping on the couch, however the team is trying to change that perspective. During Clippers home games this year all of the Lakers banners including championship and retired jerseys will be covered...
Mitchell Kranson gets a few knocks and Chris Paul proves the hero both with the stick and with the leather as the active Bears down the alums, 12-1.
LA Clippers All-Star Chris Paul torched the Denver Nuggets (2-3) for 40 points in a 118-111 overtime win Saturday. Evan Fournier and Anthony Randolph each tallied 16 pts for the Nuggets off the bench at The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
The Nuggets had a chance to win at the end of the fourth quarter.
Down 104-102 with 22.5 seconds left , Paul drove to the basket...
I understand Doc on this, but I also think if this was a few years ago that non of this would have been possible. The Clippers are the hot team, and the city, and the arena owners are running with it. Doc won't come out and say it, but it is a small jab at the Lakers. I don't mind him wanting to cover up those hiatus yellow, and purple eye sores.
No Doc Rivers, no Kevin Garnett, no Paul Pierce, no problem? After losing some of the past decade’s most polarizing NBA figures, the question is can these new look Celtics still make the playoffs? 2012-13 Record: 41-40, 3rd in Atlantic Division, 7th in Eastern Conference 2012-13 Finish: 1st round loss to the New York Knicks […]
