Chris Paul lands notable new media gig

Though he is still playing, Chris Paul is already getting a head start on his media career.

ESPN announced Tuesday that the Golden State Warriors guard will be serving as a guest analyst during the upcoming Eastern Conference Finals. Paul is set to join the “NBA Countdown” crew for that series and will appear as both a pregame and halftime analyst.

The 12-time All-Star Paul, who recently turned 39, just completed his 19th season in the NBA. While he is on a non-guaranteed contract for 2024-25 and can be waived by the Warriors without penalty before June 28, Paul recently said affirmatively that he intends to continue his playing career.

As for ESPN, it has had many former NBA players serve as both regular and guest analysts on its programming, such as Richard Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, Udonis Haslem, Danny Green and Austin Rivers.
